ABC Pilot Mentioning Stepsibling Relationships?

So, while I was looking up stuff for "18 to Life," I found another pilot that is battling for a spot on ABC. The show is called "Single With Parents," and look at how the synopsis reads:

PLOT
Meet Louisa. We'll call her Lou. This wistful mid-30's gal is thrilled that her divorced parents are leading exciting lives apart – really she is. Except both of them rely on Lou way too much: Dad needs her as a surrogate parent, and Mom counts on her 24/7 as a shrink and confidante. Hoping to finally live a full life all her own, Lou asks the universe for three teeny-tiny favors: A perfect wife for her dad. A perfect best friend for her mom. And the perfect guy for her. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for…

Before she knows it, she finds herself at Dad's house meeting Nancy, a sweet and generous aquarium tour guide who's soon to become Lou's new stepmom. Although Dad's crazy about Nancy, his two younger kids (Lou's half-siblings) can't stand her. Strike one. Meanwhile, Lou does meet Mr. Right, a hunky and sensitive Matthew McConaughey type who likes her, too, but he turns out to be Nancy's son, and Lou's own brother-to-be! Strike two. Finally, Lou's well-meaning mom announces she's finally found the companion she's been looking for all her life – Lou herself! Strike three? Perhaps, but it never hurts to have a mom on the scene…

I don't know who the guy is listed to be, but Matthew McConaughey is sticking to movies, last time I checked.

well this is encouraging and exciting about the the whole step-sib issue. hopefully they go the way we want dasey to go... the show sounds interesting though. hmmm...

The show will probably be picked up, simply because Alyssa Milano is involved.

However, I don't want this show to threaten the existence of "18 to Life" on ABC. So, maybe we'll get both. *hopes*

I've noticed that a lot of ABC's comedy pilots focus on some interesting topics.

"18 to Life" - Teen/Young Adult Marriage (and probably parenthood if the show continues into future seasons)
"Bad Mother's Handbook" - Teen Mothers
"Single With Parents" - Step-sibling Romance

That show sounds AWESOME! but I hope it doesn't affect "18 to Life"!

I am with out a doubt going to watch that...and love it. I don't think it will effect "18 to Life", ABC is always airing tons of new shows, the only problem we can forsee in it is it being a mid season replacement show and only lasting 13 episodes.

^ Even if "18 to Life" gets picked up, they'll only get around 8 episodes green-lighted. (It's mentioned in one of the articles floating around, I'm pretty sure.)

But yeah, ABC has a lot to choose from for the next year or two.

As for "Bad Mother's Handbook," it's about teen mothers. The grandmother is 48, the mother is 32, and the daughter is 16. Surprise! Grandma and Mom were 16 year old mothers. So now they're worried about the youngest. Will she continue the cycle?

I think I saw a movie adaptation of "The Bad Mother's Handbook" with the very shmexy Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen in the upcoming Twilight movie)! That would be a very interesting show as well!

Wow, lookie here, I'm back!! Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but no one probably noticed lol.

Wow, that's really interesting about the shows on ABC family. I absolutely ADORE step-sib relationships, so I'd love to watch them. Are they still on?? Because the only commericals I see anymore are Lincoln heights.

Also, I was wondering what show/movie Robert Pattinson is related to the show?? Just because I'm in love with him, and would love to see a mix between the two.
