Ok, if you remember in my intro, I mentioned my friend's slight obsession with a Taiwanese show with romantically involved stepsiblings. Today I was talking to her on MSN, and I got bored so I wikipedia-ed the show, and when I saw the character description, my jaw was like, falling. They were almost replicas of Derek and Casey! Here are some of descriptions:
This is some of the description for Qi Yue, the step sister.

The similarities are undeniable, and this show has a big following in china, everybody shipped Ahmon/Qi Yue. Looks like stepsibling couples are popular where ever they go .
Anyone else creeped out by the extreme likeness?

^ It says near the beginning that it's based off a manga... which is probably why it sounded so familiar to me. I just realized that my friend was rambling on about the manga a while back.
See, basically, I was trying to get her to ship Dasey (she watches LWD sometimes, but she doesn't see teh Dasey), and she was going on and on about how it wouldn't work out because Derek and Casey are step-siblings and society wouldn't approve. Then my other friend, who was also there, pointed out that MANGA and ANIME supported step-sibling relationships, and she kind of had this epiphany and realized that it was true. Hm, my resources say the stepbrother's name is Shiang Meng. I'll look into that again and make sure. By the way, it's not wise to trust Wikipedia with information. My motto is that if schools don't trust it then I nor you should either.
Stepsibling pairings are very popular in Japanese/Taiwanese animes/mangas.
It's a popular subject choice for graphic novels and television entertainment over there. It's a subject brought into literature and television all around the world. And apparently from my research, it is popular over here in the Americas too, but people tend to over look it. _________________

When I read your description of this show, I was like okay I might check out the first ep. Now I'm like WOW!! It's good and I must watch the rest. Lol. It's interesting so far, and like I said I've only watched the first ep. But I'm liking it alot.

My problem exactly. A lot of the blocking for the show is way over the top and it's kinda cheesey but in a good way. It just may be my new obsession. lol _________________ "Derek, what did YOU do to the children?!"
Haha, you're all very welcome! A person can never have too many obsessions lol, as long as we all stay true to what this forum is all about: Dasey! But seriously, sometimes when I watch the scene in DBY I can almost picture Derek and Casey doing the things Qi Yue and Ahmon does , Ahmon is almost a tougher season 1 Derek, and Casey is like an more uptight version of Qi Yue, the connections are creepy...
Which couples do you guys ship? So far, I'm liking Qi Yue and Ahmon (Qimon?), and Qi Yue's best friend with the basketball guy. And I love the beginning credits where they kiss, oh man, step sibling luving is definitely HOT. *Sighs dreamily...*. _________________

Haha yeah the chemistry was right off the bat between Qi Yue and Ahmon.
But it's cool because Yuan Yi is definately better and cuter than Max ever was.
But yeah the similarites between the shows and characters are crazy! I'm only about half way through episode 2. But I plan on watchign them all! _________________
After seeing a couple eps my and my sis are both definitely shipping for Ahmon. Yuan Yi was a bit of an ass.
