You guys- I FOUND american magazines with mentions of Mike and Ash- well mostly Ash- There's a little interview with her in This months "Kewl" which ok, I've never heard of, but she was on the cover(a small corner pic, but still!!) No mentions of Mike in it But it's cute the theme is "Meet the Ashleys" which is also the title of some YA book coming out I guess. So it's Ashley Simpson, Ashley Tisdale, Ashely Olsen, Ashley Benson(?) Anastasia Ashley, and Ashley Leggat. Interview:

"Dancer Ashley lives in LA during the Summer, but she shoot's Disney's(*cough* Excuse me? *cough*) Life With Derek in Toronoto near her hometown of Ontario, Canada. She just celebreated her one year anniversary with her beau who plays pro-hockey for the Denver Avalanche(which, ok isn't true anymore but their breakup was recent) Ashley revealed to us: "I've always wanted to be in the limelight."


How she Started:

"Dancing was my first passion, that's pretty much how I got into everything. I started when I was 2 1/2 years old. I've taken tap, ballet, jazz, musical theater, lyrical and point until I was 18. I don't think I could be a background dancer for somebody and there wasn't much more I could do with dancing. I have a great time with it but it's a chapter that's closed now. There are time when I get to dance in the show, so it's something I'll always be able to do."

Reality Tv?

"If I were ever to do anything it would be 'Dancing with the Stars', jsut because I love dancing so much and I always want to learn salsa and all those types. And I won't lie, I do watch the show all the time."

On Nikki Hilton

"I got to play in her poker tournament with her last month. She's just such a nice girl, she's down to earth. It's refreshing when you meet somebody who is a huge star and they're actually really nice too"

And the Paparazzi

"It was crazy. We were sitting at one tabel and it was just non-stop people taking pictures the whole time. And you just realize how quickly someone can catch a picture of you at a bad angle or leaning in to talk to somebody and it can be totally misconstrued. I would never ever want to be on that level. I'm just happy to be working and doing what I love. But when it gets to that sort of thing where people are following you, it's scary. I dont' like it all. No private life."

On High School

"The hardest thing is when you're trying to fit in and be somebody you're not. You're never going to be happy. If you're putting on act every single day, it's really straining. Every week there is going to be a new popular girl. Just don't try and be any one you're not. Be a good friend and that's all you can do"

Plus there is this little piece on what you can do for the enviroment, and they have Ash quoted as saying:

"Everyone at one point thinks well I'm only 1 person, I'm not using that much. So I timed myself in the shower. Now I get in and out of the shower in 4 minutes and get everything done whereas before I would take 15 or 20 minutes! It adds up how much water I was using before. If you monitor yourself, it's great to see the changes you are making."

Then in "Quizfest"- which I bought because I was having a crappy day, and corny tween magazines cheer me up- there is a little section- learn to speak pig latin- And there is a pic of Mike and Ash, one of the stand up pics we've all seen a million times, but still cute. The picture has an Ashley quote:

"Micheal is one of my best friends! He's like my brother!"(It makes me giggle how they can never stop talking about their love for each other)

Anyway- The little thing is message from Mike in Pig Latin- which ok is really lame, and the Mike quote is just:

"Just know that having a couple close friends is enough. You dont' have to be the most popular person"

so.. nothing exciting, but still, I thought it was so weird that we were just talking about them being in American Magazines, and I found them randomly while I was in the grocery store today.

That. Is awesome. But maybe it's better that she's just in a little corner picture and not the whole cover. If that happens, there's overexposure to worry about, not to mention the crazy things fame does to people. I like that they're still under the radar. But it is nice to see some Ash and Mike love. People in America will know who they are someday, I don't doubt it. Thanks for putting all that up!

It is exciting!! I believe that both Ashley and Michael have a bright future, and am not going to be surprised if they land some roles in American productions! They're both outstanding actors/actresses!

Wow! That just made my day. I think I'm gonna go out and buy Quizfest and frame that page. It's nice to see that Ashley and Mike are getting some love from America.

But the whole, Disney show thing? NOT COOL! Is it that hard to say the Canadian show or something. Life With Derek isn't Disney's!

^ I have to agree with the overposing statement.

Everyone is so misinformed thinking that LWD is a Disney show. *sigh* At least they would treat it better if it was one of their productions, we would all hope.

You'd think that if they were gonna interview her they would at least do alittle research. It's sucks to see an article that is filled with incorrect facts but at least they got her name right. And it is exposure all the same.
