I just checked the Disney XD and they have the new episode up! I have to get to work and don't have time to watch it, so upsetting, but thought I'd let you guys know.
As it turns out, I did have just enough time to watch it and ...
*MAJOR SPOILERS*......
I don't recommend it being the way to start your day if you don't like Dally. While Casey was concerned about Derek and they had a little look at the end, there was really nothing to hang my Dasey hat on here at all. Derek breaks up with Sally because she's going to Vancouver, and then mopes over it until he makes friends with the dog that Lizzie and Marti are hiding, which leads to some misunderstanding when Casey thinks he's whimpering in his room. After he breaks his silence in front of the family (not just Casey like I'd hoped ), Derek goes to see Sally at the restaurant to apologize, and make up! And then, just when you think it can't get any worse, he says... *chokes back a sob* ... the L word! I actually screamed, "NOOOO!" It was awful.
I guess the only upside is we know that in two episodes, the new school year will start and Derek can go back to his old self, minus Sally. _________________ Theresa

But I have to say that the dog thing interests me. My chapter fic has the McDonald/Venturis with a dog that Marti and Liz loved. I can see Derek as a dog person along with Edwin and George (but Casey and Nora don't seem like dog people). Liz and Marti are the animal lovers so I'm not surprised that they deicded to hide a dog!
I hope that Derek and Sally DO break up though. I like Dally in a minus way. The way they had it in 6 1/2 was just fine but a more major DAlly episode....... .
I hope that they are forced to break up because of the problems with Sally leaving, and I'm kind of shocked that Derek would seemingly get over her (with the help of a dog) and then go back to see her, get back together with her and tell her that he loves her. Yeah, the episode was rather disheartening with all the Dally stuff. I cringed when I heard the "L" word. Ugh, no Derek! You do not love her! But you know ... she still is set on going to Vancouver. So maybe the relationship will end soon. I still have a small fear that Sally will change her mind though. She has a few months until she leaves.
Enough about Sally.
Good points:
I did get some laughs with the whole miscommunication sub-plot.
I also did like how Edwin went to Casey when he thought Derek was moping. Because we all know, Casey knows Derek best.
Paul and Sam appeared! That's always great!
If anything, I was glad that Casey showed so much interest in Derek's personal life. Sure, Edwin started it, but she sure as hell didn't try to avoid talking to Derek afterwards.
And despite the "L" word, Sally didn't have that much screentime. She just happened to influence the storyline. So yay and nay together.
I did like the part where Casey shoves Derek into Paul's office and they're both shouting at her. I think they probably could've done without the rehashed Paul spitting out his drink joke, lol, but it was a decent scene. One of the few in this episode _________________ Theresa

I was obviously annoyed by his "love" confession, but all in all, it wasn't bad. I loved the whole dog sub-plot, and Casey getting Derek to talk to Paul was great! Plus Sally was barely in the episode--although it revolved around her. And honesty I love the part where Casey goes to talk to Derek and he says "I'm ready to talk, but not to you" I don't know, the line gave me the feeling that he's not ready for her just yet--yea idk i took it way out of context with my dasey brain
But there were still some great dasey interaction that some eps have been lacking. Plus I'm into this 'vehicle' theory about Sally-- she's pretty much a crash test dummy for Casey. Cause' Sally might be his 'first love' but not everyone ends up with their first love especially if she is a manipulative,scene-stealing, she-witch...just saying.
"Beauty and Brains?" NO that's Casey nice try Derek.
I'm just gonna pretend that Derek does what he did because he's afraid that he's losing his safety net. Sally was his Casey replacement, and he can't lose that because if he does then he'll itch for the real thing and he knows he's not ready for that yet, like that quote you said, tvfanatic26 ^^. And I like the vehicle theory too! ^^ I think it can apply to Truman/Casey as well, actually.

Well for me, WDMS (even though I don't like Dally) was better than AVDC. A Very Derekus Christmas was just a horrible episode altogether. It was out of character and just uninteresting. I've only watched it once.
And I may be reaching here, but does anyone think that maybe the dog is the big family news? I haven't watched the episode yet so I don't know if they keep it but a McDonald-Venturi pet seems like big news to me. It would definitely ease me off the highly possible theory that Nora's pregnant.

*hangs head* I'm losing faith in a canon Dasey relationship. Or even a hint of one. Like... this episode was so completely anti-Dasey (I mean, wtf? Why are we all under the assumption that Casey knows Derek best when apparently she can't even tell when he's hurting?! Casey is spacey, yes, but she's supposed to understand Derek. But she doesn't. Apparently. Hence the anti-Dasey.) that I don't even have the will to pick out the little, teeny-tiny, microscopic Dasey moments that were dispersed throughout the episode.
And I kind of hated how the background music treated Derek's breakdown. Or, you know, meltdown. Whatever you wanna call it. I mean, here this normally (semi)emotionless guy is, having finally fallen in love and had his heart broken, breaking down, and the music they play? The same stuff they normally play for a scene transition only slower. You'd think that they'd find something a little more in-tune with the scene content, but noooo. They just have to stick to the formula. No radical numbers, because God forbid a Family show have anything more than light-hearted, happy-go-lucky storylines. And if it actually does have anything different, what do we get? Slower happy music. Yes, that's right, folks. Slower happy music.
Ugh.

Thank god House fifth season starts tonight, because I'd be crying right now. Well, not really crying, but you know what I mean... DEREK LOVES SALLY? WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED HERE? I mean.. COME ON!
And only a few, tiny Dasey moments? I'm so mad right now! Grrr...

I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now...
Even if it wasn't Dasey filled, (and despite the L word) I kind of liked this episode. Sure it doesn't add to the Daseyness, but it's more of a filler episode. (if you will in Dasey terms) Derek is still learning how to adjust to his feelings. There are some stuff, like Edwin went to Casey for the problems, why would he do that? And the fact that Casey even agreed to help. Sure she was probably annoyed by Edwin coming into her room all the time, but she probably never stopped thinking about him. I loved the scene with Paul and Casey and she was upset about Derek and Sally's break up. (It's rather she's upset that Derek isn't acting normal...) I still believe that Derek is just testing it out. I loved the scene where derek was I'm ready to talk, but not to you. It has a Dasey undertone. He's not ready for her yet, he'll move on to Casey soon enough. _________________ Carolyn.
