okay, I don't think I've seen this before so I wanted to know just how many girls that Derek has gone out with or kissed or whatever that we know the names of (I know that that sounds completely lame). I tried to find all the girls that have been mentioned in the show that Derek has had some sort of romantic interation with. Please add anymore that you can think of and help find Dasey reasons for Derek needing to date these girls (unless we use the excuse that D's just a player). I only used girl's with names that were mentioned.
Sally: Derek's current girlfriend that everyone seems to hate (except me but then again, I've never been normal, no offence to all you other Sally not-haters, lol that sounds weird). She started as a girl that got Derek's attention for her looks and her coolness. She becomes friends with a girl he dated right away so after all the terible things that Beth must have told Sally she must have seen Derek as a pig. Plus she already has a boyfriend. But when things with Patrick get rocky she suddenly decides to talk to him, he takes everthing she says the wrong way and almost ruins things between her and her boyfriend. Derek shows genuine feelings and is rejected in the end. Then Sally returns (I know I skipped Make No Prom'ises but I have to fit in all the other girls and that's a long list), boyfriend free looking to Derek as a friend. But Derek, again, takes things the wrong way and assumes that she obviously likes him. She leaves for another few episodes and Derek seems to get over her but then she returns now liking him back. Derek isn't going to open up with his feelings because he's been rejected twice by this girl. If she really likes him she has to come crawling and begging. But Casey changes all that so Derek has to change his plan too. He brings Ralph's girlfriend home to piss off both Casey and Sally (who has played with his heart one to many times) and he succeeds. But then Casey tells Derek how Sally really liked him and tells him Sally is going to quit. Derek shouldn't care but he feels guilty and bad. Is it really fair to himself or Sally if he was to ignore his feelings? He'd be confident he wouldn't get hurt but wasn't life about taking risks? He goes to see Sally and make things right with her. After saying everything he thinks he should have to and more Sally finally forgives him. But once they start dating Sally starts questioning his kindness, generosity, and feelings toward her. She turned into the girl he was avoiding when he met her. what had he said to sam after ending things with Beth? girls demanded to know your thoughts and feelings, and your thoughts about those feelings. Well Sally was doing that. and then she brought out how she was friends with her ex boyfriend. Derek wasn't friends with his Ex's (not really). Derek was happy when Sally admitted that she was jealous seeing Kendra with Derek and it made him right yet again. He was right this time thankfully but what about next time?
that was horrible and weird! Not at all what I had in mind. I purposely left ou the Dasey knowing that you guys could pull it appart for me (I'm being lazy). Besides, I'm not good with putting a Dasey spin in anything but the obvious, okay so mayb this IS obvious but I just want a character analysation on the girl's derek has dated. I'll post the rest differently and on a different post (this is to much for now).

Kendra: Derek dated her for three mothes according to Sam. Kendra is smart, flirty and pretty. She happens to be a lot like Derek although she is a lot more romantic. She can't help but flirt with cute guys even when she's in a relationship and her and Derek get into lots of fights over silly little things that Derek generally starts. Kendra and Derek don't last because neither one of them was really into serious relationships. They were cute together and also really funny. I think Kendra's point in the show was to prove that Derek can stay in a serious relationship.
Emily Emily needed to get over Derek so they really did need a date where Derek could let Emily down easily. I personally was annoyed by the fangirl side but you can't really blame her when he doesn't act like a jerk to her. they became good friends and then Emily met her true love interest, the last person that you would commonly think of, Sheldon. Now there are no more feelings of anything beside friendship in the relationship of Derek and Emily.
Amy: Amy is pretty and popular. And she doesn't like Casey so obviously Derek would hit on her. Amy dates Derek because not only is he hot, he's her new enemy's step-brother who doesn't like [Casey]. Casey stole Max from Amy but she can get on Casey's nerves by dating Derek. She also has someone to vent out her frustrations about Casey with who will understand. Derek gets annoyed when all Amy wants to do is talk about Casey. After Casey and Amy become friends Derek is the one who needs to vent out Casey problems. It annoys Amy so she beats Derek to the break-up.
Vicky: Derek has an instant attraction go her (maybe because she looks a LOT like Casey?? ) and starts filming mainly her. Her attitude is just another attraction. She's no Casey, she has simmilar looks but a different drama. She may be his step-cousin but he's never met her until now. What's wrong with that? So after her issues with Casey are resolved and the wedding is over there is nothing wrong with kissing her. (Did this paragraph sound bad?)
Sandra: Derek is known for hitting on the new girl. Usually she shares some interests with him but because of her looks he's willing to chage his (on the surface). When he can't convince Casey to babysit Marti he invites Sandra over to babysit with him, Sandra loves kids anyway and maybe, just maybe he can convince Casey to put Marti to bed later. But Marti sabatoges his chances when she tells Sandra that Derek lied about the studying and the vegetarianism (I THINK). But it's just his luck that Sandra comes back to see him be a great older brother. He's able to talk Casey into taking care of Marti for the rest of the night. He's making out with Sandra on the couch when Nora and George come home surprised. Derek offers to take her home.
Lucy: Derek likes Kendra but he isn't a one girlfriend kind of guy. when Casey has her dance partner Lucy over, he flirts and manages to get the girl's interest and annoy Casey (probably because he got Lucy's interest). Casey gets mad at him and remindes him that he has a girlfriend but that doesn't stop him from asking Lucy out. But once Casey rats him out he knows that has no chance with Lucy anymore and that he still had a chance with Kendra.
Beth: Though Beth isn't shown in the show, her character was a coworker to Derek. They both worked at Smelly Nellies. their relationship lasted only three days and Beth didn't seem happy about it with what she seemed to have told Sally.
Debbie: Derek went out with her and treated her nicely but he wants to avoid the whole relationship thing with her so he makes Emily sit with him so that Debbie won't. Debbie likes Derek and would jump at the chance to go out with him again. But their reationship (should I even call it that?) has ended when he asks Emily out.
Ellen: Derek's relationship with Ellen always bugged me. She was supposed to be his date to this big part in the episode TTGBITN. The thing that irritates me is that Derek is supossed to like Sally at this point, like when he dates Amy. Ellen also calls to say that there were sunglasses left at the party and Derek and Casey are in trouble for sneaking out when they were grounded because of it.
Kate: Kate is the blonde girl from crushing the coach. The goalie's older sister. Kate comes to thank Derek for the whole Scott thing and tells him what a greal guy he is. Derek sets a date with her.
Okay, that sucked but I wanted to get all of the girls that Derek has dated or close (that we know of). I left Casey out because she's involved in every one of his relationships so the Dasey is so obviously there. _________________ http://www.fanfiction.net/~allybooklover6677

I ADORE her character... she's so amusing. I was so glad when she came back in Just Friends, 'cause I missed her. Although I didn't like her WITH Derek, I did enjoy her character as an individual. Like when she was just hanging out with Casey and stuff. _________________ Lizwin: My Anti-Drug

Kendra was annoying when we were first introduced to her, but I gotta admit, she was hilarious while she was dating Derek and afterwards she was funny too. Sally is just... obnoxious. She was obnoxious when she was the "hard-to-get-girl" and now she's an obnoxious girlfriend. She's not even funny! At least Kendra did/said things that made me crack up. But the main reason I like Kendra best is because.... well... it's a very Dasey moment IMO that made me appreciate her. I dunno if it's been mentioned before and I'm too lazy to go and check, but it was a scene in "The Dating Game". When Kendra is asking all of Casey's family the type of guy Casey would date. After getting frustrated at their useless answers, Kendra finally resorts to... DEREK. At first Derek makes a mockery of the questions and tells Kendra Casey would date a freak. But after being reprimanded by Kendra, he says some of the Daseyest things I've heard in the entire show. To paraphrase (mainly cause I can't remember what Derek said word-for-word), Derek tells Kendra that Casey would want to date someone "a little intense, someone off-beat". The look on Kendra's face as he said this was priceless. It was a cross between a suspicion, as though Kendra knew Derek likes Casey and knew so much about her and whom she would like to date, and relief that finally someone was giving her an answer that actually made sense. And get this: isn't Derek somewhat INTENSE and OFFBEAT??? This scene just made my day when I watched it and it was all thanks to Kendra! I immediately forgave her for dating Derek. And when Kendra told Casey what Derek told her, even after initially getting mad, Casey said that Derek was right!!! Ah the Daseyness of it all... very good point, I never noticed that til now, I only thought DErek said it to annoy casey and keep her from guys that may catch her interest before he planned to dump Kendra (idk, it just fits)

I actually prefer Sally.... their whole relationship from when they first met was fun to watch. it's how I got hooked on the show. And I always refer to Kendra as Cruella.... I just never liked her. _________________ LWD Couples List:

I liked the Dendra relationship much more in he early third season because it shows who they really are (two people who don't like being tied down to one person). In season two I didn't like it so much (idk why).
I really liked the Dally relatioship in season three though. Derek likes Sally, Sally has a boyfriend, Sally asks Derek to his own prom when her boyfriend is out of town, Sally gets dumped, Derek thinks Sally is interested in him, Sally sets him straight and tells him they are just friends, Derek kisses Sally, Sally's feelings change (can you really blame her?), Sally likes Derek and then finally they get together (I thought it was cute).
But season four sally has her bad moments and her funny ones.
The 4th season Dally relationship. Sally tries to get Derek to help her, Derek refuses, Sally tries to get Derek to express his feelings, Derek offers a high five, Sally makes Derek write her a song, Derek writes one (after working with Casey first), Derek is worried about Sally hanging out with Patrick, Derek tries to prove that guys and girls CAN'T just be friends, Patrick proves him right.
So.... I don't really have a favourite of Derek's girlfriends and this is why. Sally and Kendra's best lines (in my opinion).
Sally: Derek you ate that green fuzzy thing at the back of the fridge?
Sally: you are the sweetest rockstar boyfriend I have ever gone out with...... no one compares to you (weird smile)
Sally: (just friends) Derek, how could you? the emoticon should have been a smiley, not a frownie
Sally: (in JUst Friends after Derek suggests they run) Yeah, right behind you.
Kendra: who said I spread it? *Derek and Casey both look at her knowing she did* .... okay, so I might have shared your observations with one person.
Kendra: Derek's breaking up with me? (this is so sad, and I still didn't like Kendra, with Derek, the first time I watched Rumor Mill).
Kendra: "Der-bear" or "Derry"(it's cute every time, even though it can be annoying)
