|
So, a week ago I checked my guide, as per usual, to see if there were any new LwD episodes. Finally, FINALLY, they were airing MNP on May 12. Obviously, that didn't happen.
See, the thing was that all of a sudden Wizards of Waverly Place showed up in LWD's usual time slot, but Make No Prom-ises was still supposed to air at 9:30. I went to bed on Monday excited to watch it (I have to watch all shows I'm addicted to on the television first, so I haven't seen any episodes of season 3 that haven't aired on Disney yet) and woke up, immediately making breakfast and sitting down to enjoy some Dasey goodness.
BAM! It's Dating Game. I died, I really did. I checked my DVR, and MNP now isn't coming on until next week.
These schedule changes suck, grawr. _________________

To add to this bash, it seems as if Disney has switched up LWD's Tuesday schedule too.
For a while, I could come home on Tuesdays to see LWD playing at 6 PM EST/5 PM CST. When I turned the TV on today, I saw "Hannah Montana" playing. Big whoop. (EDIT: It might have been a one week thing, seeing as Zap2It has the regular schedule listed in the following weeks. But I'm not holding my breath.)
There's rumors flying around IMDB that Disney won't air Season 4 of LWD. While I haven't seen anything confirming this yet, it wouldn't surprise me.
They did the same thing to "Naturally Sadie."
On a positive note, people think this might be a result of Dasey happening in the last season.
But something confuses me about this rumor. I've seen articles confirming Season 4 of LWD airing on other Disney branches around the world. Why would they shut it down in only North America? *shrugs* _________________

Ugh, that would be terrible. I mean, there's the Dasey note, but I really love watching new episodes on the TV, not on my computer. It's just a weird pet peeve I've always had.
It wouldn't surprise me, though, if they took it off. I'm still amazed they haven't burned off the rest of the season 3 episodes.
But we'll find out, I suppose. I can't believe it's been a year since season 3 premiered. (Random epiphany.) _________________

^I find it so extremely impressive that you have waited it out like a trooper during Season 3! Major props.
However, it's no shock that Disney is still abusing LWD in such a manner. It's so ridiculous really. Another thing - weren't Ashley and Michael supposed to be in the DC Games? What happened with that? From what I hear, they aren't?
And the rumors about Disney not showing Season 4 doesn't surprise me either...but it really does make me wonder why. What could it possibly be that would make them want to decide to do that? You know? _________________

Mike is acting as a commentator/correspondent. Ashley never attended.
And from the video footage I've seen, I don't think he'll have any considerable screentime on Disney. ("Hello Family Channel viewers" doesn't sound Disney-ish does it.) On Family Channel, he'll have tons. But for Disney? I think they'll focus on Cody Linley.
I hope I'm wrong. But I have a sinking suspicion I'm right. _________________

^I think you probably are right. So Mike is there, but any chances we'll see much of him are probably going to be slim. Let's not forget they have the Jonas Brothers on there. I'm sure 95% of the cameras will be on them. *sigh* In a way I'm glad that Mike isn't a "Disney Channel Star" because he can actually go somewhere other than Disney in his career, and already has. Can you imagine if he was signed with Disney the ruckus they might have raised over him doing Re-Genesis? Blah. _________________

Very true.
I can't ever see Mike even considering Disney for contracts. He wants to spread his wings to much to be in their hold.
And *laughs,* Mike's role in "ReGenesis" would have driven Disney insane. But you know ... it seems as if the Disney guys break from the mold easier than the girls.
Shia LaBeouf and Ricky Ullman are two good examples. They both broke away pretty fast. And Adam Lamberg's last two movies have been far from Disney's standards. ("When Do We Eat" focused on ecstasy use, and "Beautiful Loser" has Adam using some strong profanity.) _________________

You have a point. Shia LaBeouf has gone very far for himself. Ricky Ullman is such an outstanding actor. I haven't seen Adam's movies, but I'm sure he's been great in them. And even Zac - seems to be doing alright for himself.
So yeah, props to them, but Mike is awesome for avoiding it all around. Family has done well for both he and Ashley. _________________

| It really doesn't surprise me at all that Disney might be taking LWD off of their network. There are more than a handful of moments that aren't suitable for the age-group the channel aims at. I just hope another station picks it up for season 4. :/ |

I don't know if someone said this, but if Disney doesn't air it, I would hope they'd turn it over to ABC Family. They do own them both, and if it continues to air on the Family Channel in Canada, I don't see why it can't be on a family channel here.
And then Disney could free up all those miscellaneous half-hours for even more Hannah Montana! *gag* _________________ Theresa

Yeah, that would probably be the best possible outcome. Even better than keeping it on Disney. Makes the possibility of Dasey more believable. |
