I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned already.

-Sam and Derek are fighting-

Sam: Tell her Derek! Tell her about your stupid Male Code!

Derek: THAT'S what we're wrestling about?!

Just... what did Derek think they were wrestling about?

OMFG! I know what you mean. Everytime I see that episode, i'm like 'What exactly did you mean Derek?!' I really think they were fighting over Casey. And i'm not just saying that because I LOVE Dasey and it would be a perfect moment.

yeah no kidding he got all overprotective when Sam started going upstairs to talk to Casey, and if it wasn't over the male code then what the heck did you THINK you were wrestling about Derek?! Those writers sure played mind games with us.

You're right. If the writers wanted us to see them as siblings, then why did they wrote "Derek is Casey your girlfriend?" ??

Yeah...I mean maybe it could happen in real life but I don't know why the writers would put that in unless they where trying to tell us something... Wink

I don't think the writers ever did have the intentions of seeing them as actual 'siblings' or 'family'. That's why everytime they're mentioned it's always 'stepbrother' or 'stepsister'. They make sure to remind us often that they're not really related.

And when they do call each other brother/sister it's to annoy one another. And when Kendra asked Casey if that's her brother she corrected and was thankful that they weren't biologically related.

I just decided to bump this thread up since I recently saw Male Code Blue on youtube yesterday..lol. I'm really late, but I just noticed how annoyed Derek sounded when he told Sam and Casey to stop playing footsie with each other.

Well they were playing footsie with him but he did seem annoyed when they were acting all couple-y and he never seemed ok with them dating except in middle man-iac but that was ONLY because he wanted to win hockey.

I've been thinking about why Derek tought they were fighting about Casey not the "stupid male code"

-he stops him from going upstairs to see her and acts supsicious when Sam says he's brushing his teeth. "Where's your toothbrush?"

-shoves him when he won't tell him where he's going

-acts really upset when he says he's going to see Casey. "why?"

-Sarcastic comments: "I thought about what Marti said and i''m gonna ask Casey to marry me "Really? can I be your best man?" "welcome to the family bro" lots more shoving

-When Derek gives the classic line "That's what we're wrestling about" and Casey gets mad at Derek about the code, he turns it right back to Sam saying "don't blame me, Sam's the one who listened to me" diverting her attention. She gets angry with Sam.

So. What else could have he think they were wrestling about? Casey, duh! :p It's obvious to us Dasey-shippers!

back when I was totally ignorant and cluless I wondered what Derek was thinking when he said that. I thought that there was no way that they were fighting over Casey so what was Derek thinking? but now it's all so obvious and i laugh when I realize that I ever ignored Derek's feelings for Casey just because Dasey was wrong NOw I use all the Dasey scences to challenge my sister and make her admit that Dasey does exist. When I brought up this scene she really couldn't come up with any good or honest excuses!

ME: So, if Dasey doesn't exsist why doesn't Derek know what they were fighting over, why does he say "That's why we're fighting?"

Said ignorant sister: i don't know, maybe he just didn't want Casey to date his best friend

ME: THen he would understand the male code that Sam talked about duh

Sister: Maybe he didn't want his best friend to date Casey

ME: He didn't! That was clearly pointed out that episode! But that still doesn't answer my question. Why did he not know that they were figting about the male code?

Stupid sister: i don't know!

Me: it's Dasey

Sister: NO it isn't! They are related!

ME: they do NOT act like siblings. Derek fought Sam for Casey!

Sister: *rolls eyes, exsasperated* Dasey is wrong!

Me: No, because they aren't related, and you are way offtopic, why did Derek fight Sam if it wasn't about the male code or about Dasey??

Sister: maybe he forgot, I don't know! I don't care about stupid DASEY! *storms out completely pissed*

ME: *smirks knowing I was right then relaizes that she left me to do the rest of the household chores by myself*

Me: *Goes to get her and promises not to directly speak of dasey (so I indirectly speak of Dasey)*

Me: *looks at other sister* so what do yoiu think of Dasey?

lol, I probably changed some things but this happened days ago and I have a bad memory, I don't know exactly how she answered me the second time I asked about why Derek didn't know why hey were fighting (something about them being siblings or brother/sister same thing)

Anyway.......`
