I have a Crate Stealth combo,,, I had the same thing happen,, the only difference was with the chassis out of the cabinet ,, i was able to put physical pressure on the board ,, and make it work for a bit ,, then it would do as you described.
Try cleaning the output jacks by spraying contact cleaner on a plug and push it in and out of the jack several times ,,,, most likely ,, that isnt the whole problem,,,but its worth a try,,,
I had a amp tech replace all the output jacks on the chassis ,, the amp is working well now,,,
Keep on aRockin',,,,, _________________ !!!ATTENTION!!!,,,I am not a amp tech,,I was an employee at the SLM electronics plant,,that made Ampeg and Crate products,,for the last 3 years before they moved operations to China,,,
It's at the shop, hopefully something simple like a bad connection on the board or pot.
At least I know the power section works, since channel 1 is fine, and everything else seems ok.
It got the crap beat out of it in shipping, the seller just put it in a plain cardboard box with no padding whatsoever & dropped it off in the mail - amazed it's not worse! Makes you wonder what some people are thinking
It hit hard enough to bend the chassis pretty good from the weight of the power transformer, broke the guide pins off all 4 power tubes (they were all hanging barely in the sockets when I pulled it out of the box - but still work), has a nice dent in one edge of the cabinet...
It's really sad that they would have not taken the time and care to ship your amp using the proper protection!
I once ordered a an old DOD pedal from ebay, and the seller took all the time and care to really pad it with layers and layers of bubble wrap and paper! All that extra effort to go that extra mile!
The next "fun" part will be attempting to recover some money from the seller for the repair - so far he's ignoring me, I'm waiting on the estimate before I start pushing. In the end I'll win (if PayPal can't/won't, my credit card company will)...
Oh well, the joys of buying online - every once in a while you deal with a flake.
The damage toll is 2 broken pots (channel 2 master volume & presence), from the chassis bending enough to hit the pc board; and a couple of resistors in the heater circuit are fried. The chassis is bent enough that the pots need to be reinstalled upside down with jumper wires rather than mounted back to the board...
