Is there a chance that someday a DVD will be made that shows, by amplifier model, a complete maintenance, repair, and mod option video?
It would really be great if a person could buy an amp specific (i.e., VL 1002, VL 502, etc) DVD that showed how to go through and checkout the amp, maintenance procedures, trouble shooting procedures as well as a list of problems and cures that the owners, of specific amps, had submitted over the years and Lee's experience repairing different amp models
Plus a maybe a section of mods that could be done and the results the mods where we could actually hear the results. Also, a chapter on the video where a person could actually see/hear the results of different tube set ups, by amp model, showcasing different manufacturers tubes,by tube numbers (12ax7, 5751, etc) , and types, EL 34, 6550s, to where we would know what brand/tube type/tube number we needed to buy to get such & such sound.
I've been wanting to change the tubes in my VL 1002 from the Mesa Boogie EL 34s outputs and Sovteck 12ax7 preamps, that were in it to 6550s and try some different
preamp tubes in it to see how it sounds. I don't have the money to experiment with all the brands and options available, and you ask 10 different people and you'll get 10 different answers on what sounds the best. If there were a section on or maybe a whole DVD put together to where we could hear all the different brands, tube types and tube numbers, we'd have a better idea of what set up we wanted to buy and we'd save a fortune over the trial and error way. _________________ Hippybilly, The Missouri Ozarks |

| A mod video for fixing/modding the FX loop in the Crate Stealth and VL series would be helpful, would be nice to have send/retunr knobs for these amps |

I just want a video that tells me how to go through my XLA-500 and make it all better. :(
*edited to add - If you wanted to go through mine and make the video, that would be cool by me Lee. :D |
