Tube sockets mounted on the PCB : bad design !

I replaced all preamp tube , and when pushing them in the socket Isaw the PCB bending , and was quite scared to ruin the thing .

So I am thinking about building an external metal plate to put the tube sockets , soldered on the chassis with the ouput tubes .

Hard to do , good idea ?
