I just switched on my VL-503, and while the lights on the front panel and foot switch all lit up as usual, the tubes did not. Needless to say, there's no sound.

Any thoughts? Changing the fuses didn't help.

absolutely no sound at all? not even humm? In that case I suppose your output transformer could be dead... if theres hum, try injecting signal through fx loop... if that does not work, try injecting signal to pin 2 of phase inverter (V5) (before the cap)....
Also, try taking signal to another power from the fx loop... The thing is try to figure out wheres the problem...

I finally broke down and had the amp seviced by a local tech. Apparently, the connection that supplies the power required to heat the tubes had failed. The tech resoldered it, and now the amp works fine.

For what it's worth, this is the second time I've experienced a problem with a soldered connection on this amp.
