I'm really confused though. When was this podcast filmed? I Remember when Degrassichick said that Mike and Ash just filmed it THIS year, and this particular podcast was obviously filmed last year. I mean if you look at Mike and Ash here:



This is how they looked this year, and that's obviously how they look for Lwd in season 4...so if the producer told Degrassichick it was finished in September then...*Brain explodes*

In addition to this matter what did everyone think of the content? I was really disappointed. So iluvarcticmonkeys and I have started a little campaign/petition thing going on. Just to fight for Dasey in general and the disappointment of the podcast.

I'm actually not surprised that they chose this particular scene. It described the plot of the tale. Had the chosen a random scene in the middle (or the end), it might have confused the non-fanfic reader.

I love Dasey and all, but if they wanted to show the viewers the base of this tale, this would be a likely choice to make. I just wish the length of podcasts were longer. If they had more time, they could do multiple scenes, thus describing many aspects of the tale: plot and ship.

Well...I'm sad about the scene too. BUUUUT however there was some jealousy in those scenes - Casey making the remark about the ditzy blonde cheerleader
And they also included the line with Derek saying 'I get to choose you're next date and it won't be a hockey player'

That to me is suggestive.

Hopefully they'll act out another scene sometime - I would love to see more from that fanfic as well. I loved it! For the simple fact they act so jealous over each other the entire time.

I really got no Dasey vibe. I mean, yeah...But then again no. It was very familyish. It needed more sparks. This is a Dasey scene after all. But no Dasey vibe...I mean this story ends in a makeout session, and it had way less fire then an episode. I know it's just a podcast but it's the principal of it.

It was definately more lacking than anything but I try to find positive in the situations.

And Ash and Michael...as always have to be practically sitting on top of each other.

I kinda felt that it had something to do with them reading the papers rather than going all out but I wasn't going to have high expectations because that's all I ever get is disappointment when that happens.

The scene was Dasey. But the lack of effort and reading the lines more than reciting them from memory limited the Dasey. I wonder how Degrassichick felt about this podcast. It must be flattering- a huge compliment to see your fanfiction acted out by the actual characters.

As much as I was disappointed in this podcast, it did have a little hint of Dasey in there. In the very beginning when Derek was telling Casey to admit to him that he was irresistible. Not very family-like.

I think they close that scene because it would make sense to people who hadn't read the story before. Maybe there will be a follow-up podcast with more Dasey scenes.

But maybe this podcast will introduce more people to Dasey.

Anywho..... even if it wasn't a Dasey scene it was still acted out good and you should be glad that they actually picked a Dasey story... other than just a regular story.....

I'm not disappointed in the podcast at all! Sure some actual Daseyness would have been nice, but guys! Don't you realize how huge this is?

1) Of all the fics they could have chosen they could have easily picked one that had no Dasey in it EVER. But they chose this one.

2) We know TPTB of television in general are aware of fanfic. How can they not? But most put clauses in contracts that state those who work on the show in any form are not allowed to read it to avoid accidental copyright issues. The fact that they decided to do a podcast and act out a scene from one of our writers?? How many of us would love to see our scene acted out by the pair themselves?

Honestly, I see nothing to be disappointed in. They're aware of our desires as fans and that gives us an edge. Let's take this as a small victory. I don't know any other show that's ever done something like this. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

The writer of "Out of the Blue" Degrassi chick was estatic and I think that is the ultimate compliment for a fan fiction writer - to have YOUR fan fiction acted out by the actors!
