Hi,
I am not very technical, for that I apologize. I have owned the VL 502 since 1992 or 1993 and never had a problem until recently.
The volume drops on both channels when in use. I thought it was a tube issue, so I bought and replaced all the tubes. No fix. It still happens.
If anybody knows what might be my next step please let me know.

Hi Joe
On the VL-Series, the only problem we have ever had with them was the Heater wires from the Main Board would fry at the Connector( Molex).
This we have seen on the 100 watter (VL-1002), It could happen to the VL-502, so take your amp to a tech and have them fix it.
One way to see if it is the heaters is, when the amp is on and the sound goes away, turn the room lights off and see if the tubes glow, if no glow, no Heaters.
I have a free video showing how to fix this at: http://leejackson.com/MasterSeries/videos/VL-1002_Service.mov
I'm sorry for the problem, WE WILL NEVER USE THOSE CONNECTORS AGAIN!

Is that the 9 pin connector with all light blue wires? Mine 502 has burn marks on the last 2 pins on one end. Thanks, Jim
