On Friday, a bus traveling to Arica, Chile, fell from a cliff in a very dangerous curve. This has become quite regular there, the latest accident being in February. But this bus carried a whole class of Cumbres School, who where on their Study Trip. The girls from II 1/2 D where the ones involved in it.
Nine of them were expelled through the window, and then the bus fell ON them. Seven died there, while the other two died in the ambulance that was carrying them.
There are 25 people hurt, 15 in critical condition. These girls where 15-16 years old who had their whole life ahead.
One of the girls that survived, after she recovered a little from the shock, told the press how she and some other had to cover their dead friends with their jackets. . .
The funerals were today at the school, where classmates and friends talked a little about their lives.
I ask you to pray for them, for the survivors, and for their family. Please enjoy life, because it can end at any moment.
That's so sad. What's going on this august first the aircraft accident in Barajas (that btw was the day of my birthday, what a wonderfull present), more than 150 lives gone in a second, and a hundred of families broken forever.
God there were entire familes in that plane, there were even a couple of babies. It's such a shame, they were coming back home or going to the best holidays in the paradise which are the canary islands, and then in half minute, everything is gone, hopes, dreams, lives... Nobody deserve a death like that.
That accident has touch me hard because, 1- They were my compatriots, and 2- Just a year ago I was in that airport, in the same track that aircraft crashed, in 747 to Venice for holidays with all my family, we have the same excitement that poor people were feeling that fateful day. Frell we even were sleeping in the same hotel that the relatives and friends of the victims are sleeping right now.
It's in times like this that I realize how cruel fate can be. You wake one morning thinking "today it's going to be my day" and 6 hours later your dead, in a aircraft crash, a tragic bus accident, or just slipping in the shower. That's why we have to live like it's our last day here, 'cause one day it will be.
I'm so sorry for all the young souls that were lost in that cliff, and overall I'm so sorry for the families I can't imagine the unbearable hell they are going through right now. It's such a shame things like this ever happend.
