Thank you, Boaz. I'm pleased so many of your boxes were ticked!

Your detailed comments on all the clues are much valued.

My thanks, also, to penfold-61's glorious image of "Fiery piss flaps"!

And so to #26. Let's see where your minds go with:

BARBARA CARTLAND

Adjudication next Friday.

Holy schmoley, this is complicated.

Barbarian dropping in before anal fuck with doctor? Love a duck, miss, she wouldn't write that! (7,8)

Barbarian 'dropping in' = Barbara

analdoctor* 'missing' O and O ('love' and 'a duck') = CARTLAND

Romantic rugby player talking about first oral - can't do without flanks being queer (7,8)

Homonym BARBAR (Baa-Baa) + A(bout) + *(o)RALCANTD(o).
See. Easy

This is difficult... Still thinking... In the meantime here's a special clue just for Boaz:
Novelist takes Latin to create a new word (9)

It seems Barbara Cartland did not sufficiently capture your imaginations. I expected to see a few more entries. Anyway, here is the judging:

4th) Boaz with:
"Barbarian dropping in before anal fuck with doctor? Love a duck, miss, she wouldn't write that! (7,8)"
Loved the first part of the clue, particularly 'dropping in'. Let down in the second part with 'Love a duck'; I am asked to 'miss' the 'Love' and 'duck' but not the 'a' between?

3rd) Boaz with:
"Romantic novelist to stop Barack shortly putting 'classy porn' before country (7,8)"
A nice idea and very topical. Unfortunately it does not register as even a slight tremor on the scale of blueness that is required.

2nd) anax with:
"Romantic rugby player talking about first oral - can't do without flanks being queer (7,8)"
Though the rugby theme of the clue carried through successfully, I was left feeling that the clue, overall, lacked any meaning.

1st) penfold-61 with:
Love story writer gets tad carnal, having been frigged on sandbank with piece of soap (7, 8)
Well done, penfold-61. From the comical word 'tad' to describe the degree of carnality, through to 'frigged' and the inventive cluing of 'BAR' and 'BAR', resulted in a very pleasing image. The word is with you.
