As ze subject said, I come from the lurking shadows. Oh yeah, that means I've been spying on ya'll for a looooong time.
But that doesn't scare you away, does it?
My name is Veronica. *waves*
Anyway... In reality, I currently reside in Toronto, Canada. But, my parents are divorced, so my Dadda lives in London. (Sound familiar?) And I visit him every second weekend.
Anyways... some of you may know me as Dasey_Must_Happen and/or Bloodtoast on fanfiction. Yup, I'm both of them.
I'm also Dasey_Prophet on LiveJournal, and Blootoastie on the You to the Tube.
Alrightly, now that the advertisement for my life on other websites is over, I shall reconsile the dark and tragic past of my addiction to Dasey.
Alright, it's not really that dark or tragic at all. More like boring. So pull up a chair and a book as I recount my... Dasey past. (May be long.)
It all started a long long time ago... in August, 2007. (*sniffle* yup, that means I've been shipping Dasey for less then a year. DON'T LOOK AT ME! I'm a disgrace!) I was up at my Dad's house in London, and me, being one of those 'stay-up-late and sleep-in kinda people, began watching the Family Channel at about 3 or 4 in the morning.
Okay, I'll come clean. I used to think that the Family Channel was baby-ish and gay and stupid, so I never watched it. Until... that fateful night, when I saw... it. Yes, I saw the almight power of the Dasey (in the episode, "Dinner Guest.") and I remember exactly what my first thoughts were: "Damn! If they weren't stepsiblings..."
Life with Derek became my guilty pleasure. Every night I'd watch it at 3 or 4 in the morning, and my hunger and lust to learn more about Dasey began to grow...
So I went to fanfiction, and was bombarded with all these stories with 'Dasey' in the summary. Me, being a novice idiot, was like, "What the hell is Dasey?!?!!?" so I clicked on one of the stories and realized that it was Derek + Casey as a couple. I was so happy that other people shipped them, I was speechless. I remained a silent observer and reader of fanfiction, while continuing to watch LwD at night.
School started, and I realized that LwD came on at 11:30. So I stayed up late and managed to watch all of season 1 and season 2 that way. I saw the splendor that was The Party, The Room, Battle of the Bands and everything else, and the more I watched, the more I became obsessed. With Dasey.
I wanted more, so I went to TV.com and looked up LwD to see if there was any episodes I missed.
When I saw there was a whole other season, I headed off to Youtube (late at night and on the weekends.. Yes, still hiding my obsession from my family) and watched it up till Fright Night.
That's when I started writing fanfiction, because I just couldn't wait for the next episode to come out.
Gradually, Dasey became a good chunk of my life to the point it takes up about 50% of my thinking time. And it still does.
On Christmas of 2007, I let my sister know what Dasey was, and my obsession. I deemed her "neutral", neither a dreaded anti or a shipper.
In January, I began steadily talking to her about it, abd bragging, and exclaming and trying to get her to ship it, too. She still doesn't, but I know she secretly does. She told me that when they kiss, she wants me to show it to her. That's alright.
My sister is the only real-live person who knows about my obsession. My Dad and Mom know, but they don't watch family that much so they're pretty clueless. My mom doesn't even know LwD exists.
And here I am. Completley and utterly in love with the chemistry and UST of Dasey.

Anyway, to wrap up this intro before you all pull out pitchforks, I'll say this: I'm happy about becoming a part of this community!!!!
Always happy to meet a new member of the family! Even though the spying was a little creepy, I'll admit, LOL.

Welcome Veronica! I do agree with Kat that lurking in the shadows is slightly creepy, but we can look past that. Or I can. haha. Anyways, don't worry about long posts. As Kat already pointed out, we all love rants. And who should know better than the queen of rants? Moi! Haha. (I also share this title with Kat)
You know what I realized...Kat took all my major points. Darn it Kat! But I still love ya twin! Along with Alyssa...haha. We also tend to hug alot and randomly shout our love for each other. Just a warning. Haha. We've gone from a "cult" to a family overnight and we hope you feel at home...like seriously. I got SO addicted...this is my second HOME. Haha. Wow. I didn't mean my reply to be so long. But being a ranter...actually queen of rants...you can't be surprised. You know what else? I tend to use a lot of dots...THERE THEY ARE AGAIN! Haha. Yes, that was fast wasn't it? I think it because some of us just click, you spend your whole life trying to find kindred souls that just fits you and make you happy, and I'm so glad I found some kindred souls here .
