Identical laughs?

Okay, so Christina (iluvarcticmonkeys) and I were watching The Party for LWDSR (www.freewebs.com/seasonrevival for more info), and I saw a strange point...

You know the classic bathroom floor scene? Derek makes a lame joke and Casey laughs? We all KNOW it was because you giggle around the boy you like...it was that over exagerated laugh.

Point- She used that SAME laugh earlier in the episode to talk to the dude who wanted to talk to the "cute girl who was throwing the party".

IDENTICAL FAKE GIGGLY CUTESY LAUGHS.

Interesting, eh?

yep yep. it's true. me and kelly are making soooo many new points by watching the eps over again. like, we're studying EVERY MOMENT under a microscope. right now we're trying to figure out why derek and casey dont have the hardcore physical fights like they used to. we've narrowed it down to either 'derek is too nice to casey after the fights so he stops fighting her cuz it creeps him out' or 'derek realizes after male code blue that he likes fighting FOR casey (him and sam's wrestling match) better than actually fighting HER'. hmmmm. anything someone would like to add?

I agree about the laugh ... it definitely had "nervous/flirtatious giggle" written all over it. Especially considering the fact that Derek's joke wasn't even that funny.

About the lack of hardcore physical fights, I think it's probably one of the following things:
1) There is just way too much sexual tension there, and they are now more aware of it, so they tend to avoid any hardcore physical contact (i.e. no full body hugs)

2) The WRITERS are fully aware of the crazy amount of chemistry between Mike & Ashley and so they keep the physical fights to the minimum -- b/c Mike & Ashley have certain mannerisms that could be construed as flirting if Derek & Casey were to get to close.

3) Derek and Casey are older now and have grown out of their S1 wrestling-ways.

4) They understand each other better now (and actually care about each other) and therefore don't have to resort to wrestling in order to get their way. If Derek wants something from Casey, he knows her well enough to figure out how to get it (and vice versa).

innocently_ironic makes very good points on why they don't wrestle. And I never noticed or thought about the laugh. Hmmm...I'll have to watch that eppy again. Also, doesn't she use that kind of flirty laugh-ish thing when she first meets Max? Hmmm...or maybe I'm delusional. I don't know. Either way, nice catch!

This reminds me of in Derek Un-Done I believe, where they're sitting away from the rest of the family and then Casey turns to Derek and does that chin to shoulder thing. Total flirting move!
