OMG me too! I was just about to put that, but you beat me to it!
Books:
The Truth About Forever
Forged By Fire
Bridge To Terabithia
A Child Called "It"
Of Mice And Men
Night
One Night
Movies:
Armagedon
The Notebook
The Lion King [when Mufasa dies]
Forrest Gump
Across The Universe
Thirteen
I Am Legend
Castaway |
I completely agree with A Child Called It and The Lion King. Oh... and "The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio" made my friend and I cry when we watched it during our Mike&Rob marathon about a year ago. Of course... the reason that we cried was because they went away to play baseball. And our crying consisted of, "Come back, Mikey! Come back, Rob!" So I don't really think that counts.
But I did think of a Rob movie to add to the list... Prancer Returns! It makes me cry. Don't laugh. It does. Rob rocks in the movie and brings angst to it. If you haven't seen it, you need to.
Oh, and another one! The Christmas Shoes, but that may just be because the song makes me cry too.

Bridge to Terabithia was the first movie to ever make me cry, which is weird since the book never made me sad (of course, I read it when I was little, so nothing really bothered me back then.)
I Am Legend makes me cry whenever I even think about it, just because of his dog, Sam. That movie was so utterly depressing for me, I'm not sure if I can ever watch again despite the fact that it was so good.
Those are the only two movies that have made me cry, though. And so far, a book has never made me cry. _________________

I watched Finding Neverland the other day. I was under the impression that it was a happy movie. It's very sad. I don't usually cry in movies. But I did at the end of this one.
Books that I have cried during.
A Child Called It
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (when Sirius Died)
It's really weird, I didn't cry when anyone else died. Strange.
There's this Harry Potter Fanfiction that I read. I cried during. It's called:
Recnac Transfaerso. It was really sad. Every time I read it I get all teary. _________________ Smile, people wonder what you've been up to.

Wow, I just saw Bridge To Terabithia for the first time tonight, and I completely fell apart! And that's weird, because it's the same for me, it's the first movie that's ever made me cry! I came to this topic before and saw that almost everyone put Bridge To Terabithia as a movie/book that made them cry, and I didn't understand what was so sad about it until that part of the movie.
But last summer I read A Child Called "It" and definitely cried to that, because I understand how bad child abuse gets.
And the thing is, I'm not a big crier at all. I mean, I don't remember crying since a couple years ago when I was at my friend's house and her mom came into her room to tell us her cat Boots was hit by a car and died, and we both cried ourselves to sleep that night. Though it feels kind of stupid to say it now... |

It's not sad to cry to sleep about something like that. I'm not a pet person myself but a pet, especially if had by the family long enough, is just as important. They become a member of the family and to lose something like that is difficult. My best friend had her cat for longer than I've known her and we've been friends for 16+ years. We were all prepared for the day the cat would die, knowing it would be exceptionally difficult for her. The somehow the cat got outside and never came home. We believe she left to die as many animals do but the not knowing for sure will always be hard for my friend. She was very sad for a long time and still is sometimes but she's doing much better. |

When I was younger I was appalled that my mother seemed to cry over every movie/tv show she saw. I only ever cried if an animal was hurt or died (I'm a HUGE doggie lover!)...but ever since I fell in love with the book To Kill A Mockingbird in 7th grade it's gotten incredibly worse for me as a crier.
Movies:
Bridge To Terabithia
The Notebook
To Kill A Mockingbird
Homeward Bound
Books:
Harry Potter (5-7)
To Kill A Mockingbird
Perfect Match

Yeah, I've never had pets before even though I'm a huge animal lover, it's just that my dad didn't really like animals, but it was so sad when her cat died. She used to have three cats and three dogs, but the first cat ran away, the second got hit (boots), and now she has one cat, Oreo.
So, she has three dogs (all labs), two boys and one girl, Jack, King, and Baby. Jack was hit a few years ago (he's the oldest) and lost one eye, but he's fine now, and she said King and Baby are brother and sister. But anyway, out of all three Jack is my favorite and any time I go to her house he's always the one to run up to me when I get there ^_^ he's the sweetest dog ever! I wish I could steal him from her
Yeah, that was all random, sorry for the off-topicness ^^; |

| I'm going to totally regret this, I know, but a moment that makes me kinda teary (not actual crying but it's a little tender and let's face it, kids sad crying is cry worthy) but in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid when they're shooting the tranquilizers and it hits the guitar and shocks him and he cries? yeah, that gets me every time. Like I said, lame but true. |

I've read LOTS of fanfics [mostly Dasey's] that make me cry. Don't feel bad. _________________

Actually, Go Ask Alice is Fiction. It's written by a woman named Beatrice Sparks, who decided writing under the pseudonym Anonymous would have more of an impact on its teen readers, because they would then assume the protagonist was real.
I was pretty mad, when I read that. I felt lied to.
The only movie that I've...teared up...at was Home Room. Oh. and Flicka. I don't know. Something about that damn horse got me.
As for books...I've never cried at them. But My Sister's Keeper and What Happened to Lani Garver sure left my mind reeling. |
