Man I wish my family was like all of you guys!! My Mom and Dad don't even know the show exists, let alone know how obsessed I am with it/Dasey. And if they did, my Mom wouldn't care and my Dad would probably tease me about it. Oh, they are cruel.
But I'm slowly converting my sister from a "Neutral" to a Dasey-shipper. In the beginning, I told her about That Moment when Casey turned around and stood up = her pressing against Derek = them looking like they're about to kiss (Wow. I forgot the episode this was in.) And she said, "That's pathetic. If they want to kiss, then just kiss. Don't do all this teasing crap."
Then, just a few weeks ago, I was ranting and ranting about how much I loved Dasey, and she said, "I want them to kiss."
An hour later she said, "I REALLY want them to kiss!" but kind of quiet, like she was hoping I wouldn't hear.
But I did.
I hear everything.
She even compared Derek and Casey to Ned and Moze on Ned's Declassified SSG. Which, is like MAJOR for her, since NDSSG is her favorite Family Show, and NedxMoze is her one and only favorite pairing.
Yeah, I'm pretty happy that my slow-conversion plan is working. I know she's secretly in love with Dasey. She just needs a little probing to let the Dasey love out.
Well my mom watches LWD with me sometimes and she knows i've been a Dasey shipper from the beginning. She doesn't see anything wrong with it and thinks it's cool that we all have this fanbase. My parents loved my posterboard and thought it was really creative. I'm confused though because at first I was embarassed when my dad asked me about it (why are you making a poster board) and I told him and he's lke nothing wrong with that, people are close-minded it's not incest blah blah. Then yesterday he's like they are brother and sister? So I re-explained they are STEP and he's like that's kind of weird what do you say "my husband is my step brother" then I explained the whole they just met when they were 15 through their parents marriage and my mom stepped in and defended it! It was awesome! She was like NO step siblings they didn't grow up together! I'm like "Go mom!" But yeah my parents think it's really cool how we all support our love for the show and are trying to make a difference.
My sister won't watch the show she hasn't even given it half a chance. she's like i'm bored so I change the channel. oh well. She's all into HM and all the other Disney shows. For god sakes her favorite show is Spongebob so it has nothing to do with it being a kid show! She's 31 btw. strange... _________________
Wow!
Thoses of you with Dasey supporting siblings are lucky. My sisters are 12 and 8 and i'm fifteen and I'm like 20x more obsessed with LWD than they are! My dad takes note of small clips when walking by the tv when LWD is on but I know that my mom has seen so much more LWD than him. She often comments and occasionally sits down to watch the episodes with my sisters and me but ususally watches it while cooking dinner (she misses lots of the best parts). My sisters are starting to like LWD less and less which is so unbelievably sad! lol but they complain that its my fault (probably is). And while my littlest sister (who's kind of like Marti) is kind of okay with Dasey (she loves reading fanfics that I show her) my 12 year old sis HATES it because she's a goody two shoes and thinks it's wrong.
I backfired with "Then how come Derek can kiss Vicky?" and gave her a visual of how that would be just as disgusting when I told her it would be like her kissing our step cousin. But sadly now she likes Dasey less! _________________ http://www.fanfiction.net/~allybooklover6677

DASEY ~ The exception to ALL rules!!
ahhh...... I'm totally laughing my guts out! My mom sat down and watched a whole episode of Life With Derek tonight after my first post!!!!!
I was estatic that she didn't change the channel (even though she threatened to when I kept saying the lines that I know by heart. I had to hold my hand over my mouth to keep from saying the lines for the whole second half of the episode!!) lol but I was so shocked!! It was an old episode but hey, who cares?? lol, I'm kind of crazy right now because my sisters and I weren't really watching it (I was on the computer and didn't notice till I heard the theme song, or voices, can't remember) and she was already sitting there, so she wasn't just doing it because she felt obligated to let me watch a rerun of my favourite show! Yeah, but sadly I annoyed her by saying most of the character's lines (especially Derek's) in Middle Manic.
Is my mom a possible LWD fan?
i think she might be!! _________________ http://www.fanfiction.net/~allybooklover6677

DASEY ~ The exception to ALL rules!!
MASEY IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! But my friggin sister who's 30 things he's HOT *bashes head on wall* and she thinks derek and sally should stay together. But here's the BEST PART.....
She walked in the room when I was watching open mic plight while they were singing and she goes "are those two dating?" AND SHE WAS POINTING TO DASEY!!!!! I'll work on the liking max and sally thing. _________________ LWD Couples List:
1.Dasey
2.Dally
3.Nasey
Well, as some of you may already know, I've gotten my mom hooked on LWD. So far, she's seen The Room, The Wedding, The Poxfather, MCB, DwD and BotB, but I still don't think she sees the Dasey. I mean, I brought it up to her a few days ago - by saying that about 99.9% of the fanbase wants them to hook up, and this is how our conversation went down:
Mom: But... they're brother and sister.
Me: STEP-brother and -sister. They're not related, and they didn't grow up thinking of each other AS siblings. They're more like two teenagers forced to live with each other in the same house.
Mom: True...
And the conversation sort of ended there. So, I'm not sure if she supports it now or not, or if she's now catching on to the not-so-subtle moments thanks to my push in the Dasey direction. I'll have to ask again, but I want her to see the rest of the show before I do that.
So far, she thinks the show is "cute", but she doesn't quite know all of the characters' names, which is... depressing. Her favorite character is Casey, though. This was her response afterwards:
Mom: Let me guess... your favorite character is Derek?
Me: Nope. Edwin and Lizzie.
Mom: Who?
ACK!
Being the uber Lizwin fan I am... that just crushed me. I think I died a little on the inside after that, but I quickly explained to her WHO Edwin and Lizzie were (Ed = Derek's brother, and Liz = Casey's sister), and she finally understood.
I also wanted to say Ralph, but by that point, Ralph hadn't made his debut and I didn't want to confuse my mom. She only saw BotB yesterday and I'll have to ask her about it. Maybe she noticed the stage grind!
Now, my sister on the other hand... she knows I love LWD, and she knows I'm a HUGE Dasey/Lizwin fan. She, herself, is not. Like, she's not against it or anything... she just doesn't like the show. She'll watch it occasionally, but that's about it. _________________ Soul x Maka: My [anime] OTP -- /Never has an unoffical pairing been so blatantly obvious. They're soulmates, I tell you!/
Hahaha, well my family doesn't watch Life with Derek but anywho. So I begged (yes, BEGGED) a friend to watch Life with Derek (March Break) and then when he watched it he was like:
Man I wish my family was like all of you guys!! My Mom and Dad don't even know the show exists, let alone know how obsessed I am with it/Dasey. And if they did, my Mom wouldn't care and my Dad would probably tease me about it. Oh, they are cruel.

Ahhh, I'm so jealous!! My 12 year old sister is against Dasey but she loved Ned and Moze from NDSSG. It was her favourite show for the longest time. The Ned/Moze pairing was probaby her favourite too.
On the plus side she admits that dasey does exsist even though its "wrong". But I persisted and I finally convinced her to write a Dasey fanfic where Derek and Casey at least agknowledge that they like each other and she did!! I still have to edit it (she is good with plots but not really the real writing part) and even though its only a oneshot I think it's one of those good they will never be together oneshots (I'm tempted to change the ending so that real Dasey happens but I won't push it). _________________ http://www.fanfiction.net/~allybooklover6677

DASEY ~ The exception to ALL rules!!
Location: Some boring city in Canada that no one cares about.

Ironically everyone in my center-family have watched LWD and are all rooting for Dasey. My brother is a die-hard shipper like myself who is just as prepared to flood the writers' (Daphne especially) mailbox with hate mail if the show doesn't end the way it MUST lol.
My mom on the other hand, doesn't really care either way but is SO on the Dasey band wagon with us. And dad doesn't really ship them at all, but sees nothing wrong with them being together, hence technically making him an avid supporter of Dasey. So I guess you could say all of my family are supporters within different extents.
My brother won't watch LWD with me anymore. He used to, like, in the first season, but he stopped when he became a "teenager" because he thought it was a "kid's show." (We all know it's not, DUH!) I've tried getting my mom to watch; she won't watch my shows mainly because my dad doesn't like me watching "kiddie" channels. Basically, no one watches anything with me, unless I like what they're watching, which is sad, since no one has the same taste as I do. _________________ Have You Had Your Dasey Today?
My mom likes the show. I got her hooked on it when I made her watch it with me a while back. In fact yesterday she said "When is Life with Derek on tonight? I want to watch it." It was awesome. My sister also likes it, she's like addicted to the family channel, lol. (which is kind of amusing, because she's 21. hehe.) My brother also watches it occasionally, but not very often. He likes Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, though. lol.
I have no idea what they think of Dasey. I've never mentioned it to anyone.
Unfortunately my Dad doesn't really watch it at all, I don't really know whether he doesn't like it or whether it just doesn't interest him. _________________ "If I had a dollar for every brain you don't have ... I'd have one dollar."
