OH MY GOD! I went on YT to find Tru Confessions...I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!

I only watched two seconds of it before it came flooding back to me. This movie made me cry. And its tough to make me cry at movies. You have to get me way down deep. I remember the library scene most vividly. Where he was lost or something. I was like balling right then. I have to rewatch this whole thing...gah.

*slaps self for forgetting* They should replay this. It was a fantastic movie!

OOh, I got into the Bewitched series before. I love that show. Hmmm...I don't think they play reruns of it anymore. *sigh* Wasn't it made in the 60s? *shrugs*

Yep. Bewitched was made in the 60s. My favorite years were with Dick York though. While I didn't mind Dick Sargeant, I just have a soft spot for York. I loved his facial expressions. It's saddens me when I think about the pain he endured while on that show.

Although that show is rather tragic when you think of the early deaths of many of its cast members. The first Gladys Kravitz died about a year or two into the show due to cancer. Of course, she will always be the best one in my books. She was wonderful. Add that with Dick York's absence due to back problems, and Elizabeth Montgomery's battle with cancer when she was in her late 50s.

I'm a bit of a TV geek when it comes to my older shows.

I was a HUGE Lucille Ball fan when I was about 7. While my friends read Nancy Drew books, I was busy reading biographies about Lucille Ball, Vivian Vance, and Desi Arnaz.

Mmm, wasn't Dick York the first guy? The one they showed most often? Anyways, he was great. He was perfect for the role...the other guy just wasn't up to par I guess. I don't know.

Anyway, I really liked the show. I even have the first few episodes on DVD. Part of a gift I got...hmm. When I get home tomorrow, I'll rewatch them. But I remember I'd always get excited when they showed the reruns...but sigh...they stopped. I was heartbroken.

I think the only one left alive would be the woman who played the daughter. She was such a cute character. Wasn't her name Abigail? *shrugs* Been so long. I think she was on that show Identity...

Hmm...I have no idea Lucille Ball is...or if I do it has slipped from my mind. I am not very good with putting names to faces with celebrities. Anyways, I tend to like some of the older things myself. Like last year and in seventh grade, I started really getting into stuff NO ONE my age would ever listen to. lol. I remember at my Bat Mitzvah getting together with the DJ. I gave him a list of songs and he was all, "You picked these? Alright. A girl with some taste in music." rofl. It was funny...and he kinda scared me. LOL. Anyways...I lost my train of thought.

Anyways, back to Tru Confessions...ROFL. Rewatching it despite the fact I SHOULD be asleep. I love it but am dreading the library scene...it always makes me cry. *grabs a box of tissues* Such a great movie. They really need to re-air it.

And sigh...Shia is such an awesome actor.

The only other Indy movie I saw besides the fourth was the first one, and I really didn't like it. I guess I just liked Shia in the movie because it added some flavor that made me enjoy the movie more.

The weird thing about me is that I'm entirely modern. There's no music I like from before the 90's unless it's some one-hit-wonder that I like to listen to just for fun. I actually kind of sadden myself with how I reject old things. Though, now that I think of it, I do like old television shows, though I was definitely more obsessed with them when I was little. It was mostly Gilligan's Island and I Love Lucy. I Love Lucy was my family's show. Whenever my mom worked, my dad, my sister, and I would watch the back-to-back episodes that were on Nick@Nite. And who didn't watch The Brady Bunch?

Ooh, and in middle school whenever I was sick (which was a lot), I always watched old shows like Green Acres and Growing Pains.

Has anybody seen Between the Lions? It was on when I got up yesterday, and it was actually really funny. And I didn't have to twist everything around into dirty innuendos to be entertained. Wow, I think I'm actually starting to become mindless, lol.

But that reminds me, the kid's shows have gone downhill too. The Backyardigans, etc....blahhh. Remember The Comfy Couch? That show was amazing. And I still watch Arthur when it's on. Madeline, Blue's Clues (The Steve Years), all those amazing shows. I feel sorry for this generation of kids.

We MIGHT see 'Get Smart' because we're a Steve Carrell family, but the combination of my mother's hatred of the old show, and our shared dislike of Anne Hathaway (my mom's dislike of her has rubbed off on me over the months, I've found) makes it only a possibility.

You know what movie I can't wait to see this summer? Tropic Thunder. Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. in one movie is pure genius. I mostly want to see it for Robert Downey Jr. though. (;

I have the lamest taste in music ever. Linkin Park is probably the only band I like that's actually good (Oh, and The Academy Is...). I'm serious, there are so many bands I love even though I know they're terrible. Fall Out Boy is a good example. I used to like Panic at the Disco, but the loss of their exclamation point symbolized their sell-outness, and I was right. Their new album sucks. (Luckily, I didn't buy it.)

It's kind of strange the way TV's going. It's like, half of it is completely, unbelievably terrible and just plain disgusting, while the other half includes some of the best shows ever IMO, such as The Office, Chuck, and Life With Derek (OF COURSE, lol.)

The three reality shows I watch are American Idol, Kid Nation, and So You Think You Can Dance. Okay, so the last one I've only seen some of, but it's always interested me. And Kid Nation is a complete guilty pleasure. It gets you so hooked, it's not even funny. I even shipped a love/hate relationship on that show, haha. I'm so lame.

Dick York was the first guy. Although, he wasn't the first choice. Dick Sargeant was originally pinned to be Darren the entire run. (Is a television geek ... at least when it comes to old television)

*sighs* You can't remember Lucille Ball? She was the 1st woman of television! The Queen of Comedy! Born August 6, 1911 ... (rambles on other random facts that she really shouldn't know)

Although I do love my old television, there were certain shows I couldn't really get into. I wasn't really into the whole "country" phase in the late 60s/early 70s with "Beverly Hillbillies," "Green Acres," and "Petticoat Junction." I can watch an episode or two, but no big fandom there.

Like I said, I love my 80s television. Sure, some of it wasn't great (ex. "Alf" ... and "Different Strokes" got repetitious and annoying after too long), but some of it is gold. "Family Ties" was good. It lost a bit of its touch toward the end, but there was some good political humor. And I loved the Alex/Ellen ship. (Arrogance meets the artist)

It was also nice to see sitcoms about family life that didn't revolve around sex. Sure, the parents flirted and had some innuendo-laced talk. But, the show wasn't littered with crude humor and well ... stupidity. The networks don't believe in that anymore.

I guess, that's where Disney fills the void. And even though stupidity still takes center stage, they do manage to sneak in a good series or two. Example: Life With Derek.

Ohh. Why did they pick him instead? *reminds self to go watch DVD* I'm sure you know why. lol.

And nope..sorry. Let me ask my mom. OOOOOH! HER! I asked my mom. The woman who was in I Love Lucy! Ok, I know who you are talking about now. Gah. I suck at celeb names.

I remember a time when I was into the Brady Bunch...lol. Probably my mom's influence. Its so funny, my mom wished she could have been a part of their family. No lie. She wished that when she was growing up. Haha. Anyways, I do love my old shows but I love some of the modern ones as well.

Life With Derek, The Office, and other things. I don't wanna make a huge list. Anyways, I finished watching Tru Confessions today. The library scene made me teary eyed. I'm surprised I didn't cry. Such a wonderful movie. I miss movies like that. They are a breath of fresh air.

Makes me want to rethink my choice of film for my Video 3 class (a year away...need video 2 first). Hmmm...*ponders*

Whaaaat? No, I said LP was one of the only musical artists I liked that was actually good. They are absolutely amazing. They could never be terrible. They're my favorite band. (:

I have always wanted to see Tru Confessions. I just don't even know if they are even going to play it. I have seen Color of Friendship, twice actually and I loved it. Especially since it has Shadia in it.

If anyone knows if they are going to play Tru Confessions and not one of their High School Musical Cheetah Girls Hannah stuff, please tell me.

Also, I agree, all the shows now are just pointless. Although I do enjoy watching Degrassi, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and yes, High School Musical (only becuase of the musical part). The only things worth while for me to watch are either if they show broadway musicals on tv, (like when Legally Blonde the musical was shown on MTV, such a funny musical) and older shows, like Little House on the Prairie and Full House and shows like Reba and Boy Meets World and all those shows are cancelled or completed.

I don't even watch tv anymore, with all this Hannah Montana, and Spongebob crap.
