I thought this was interesting to learn about William Greenblatt, otherwise known as Sheldon on LWD.
He was the main character in a Shaftesbury show called "Screech Owls." The website has a few pictures, but they're only thumbnails.
However, I was able to snag a press release. It reveals some about William.
WILLIAM GREENBLATT as “Travis”
Travis is a “dream role” for William Greenblatt. In fact, getting to play the captain of the hockey team in Screech Owls is a “dream come true” for the talented, young Toronto-based actor. Greenblatt was already a fan of the Screech Owls novels by writer Roy MacGregor when he learned that Shaftesbury Films was planning a series based on the books. “I had actually been saying that someone should make a TV series and that I should get to play Travis,” recalls Greenblatt. “I can’t believe that it all turned out that way.”
A diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and a hockey player himself, Greenblatt lives and breathes the game. “When I’m not playing hockey,” he admits, “I’m thinking about it all the time. I study the game whenever I watch the Leafs on TV.” Playing the Screech Owls captain and high scoring forward comes naturally, but it’s not without its challenges. “Travis is basically a good kid, but his best friend and teammate Nish sometimes leads him astray,” says Greenblatt. “And because he’s the team captain, he feels responsible if something goes wrong. So he faces all the pressures of being a leader.”
Greenblatt himself has faced the pressures and challenges of a rising acting career. After getting his first break in 1996, at the age of seven, playing “Sammy” in the Showtime cable feature The Homecoming. The young actor landed a recurring role in the Disney TV series In a Heartbeat. Greenblatt has also appeared in such TV movies as The Secret Path, starring Della Reese, The Abduction, with Victoria Principal and Robert Hayes, and Ms. Scrooge, featuring Cicely Tyson. Meanwhile, he has made appearances as “Duncan McHugh,” the guest lead role in the popular TV series Emily of New Moon, and on episodes of Earth: Final Conflict, X-Men, Prince St. and Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal.
Aside from hockey and acting, Greenblatt is an avid reader and studies violin.
