Oh my gosh!! That video is simply fantastic!! I love how it goes through years 1-5 in order then goes all in a mix. It's perfect! Great song and edited very well! (I left you a comment on youtube also). Thanks for sharing it!!
Hmm *thinks she must make some new H/Hr graphics now to spread some more love around*.
I'll definately post some today later on. By the way - for any of you wanting to read an extremely good H/Hr fanfiction - I finished one on fanfiction.net on Saturday called Ron's Admirer by Goldy. Extremely well written and she keeps the characters very entertaining! A must read! _________________
Just bringing over the latest J.K. Rowling Interview statement for discussion:
*********************************************************
Here are a few interesting points about the shipping aspects within the series. This excerpts are from the new book 'Harry: A History' By Melissa Anelli from the Leaky Cauldron website. She interviewed Jo again for this book
"I tried very hard to soften it, I suppose," Jo said. Just because someone had a view on Harry/Hermione didn't mean they weren't genuine, or that they were necessarily misguided. In fact, I will say this, Steve Kloves who has been the script writer [on the Potter films], who is enormously insightful on the series and a very good friend, after he read book seven he said to me, 'You, know, I thought something was going to happen between Harry and Hermione, and I didn't know whether I wanted it or not.'
"I had always planned that Harry's true soul mate, which I stand by, is Ginny, and that Ron and Hermione have this combative but mutual attraction. They will always bicker, there will always be rough edges there, but they are pulled together, each has something the other needs."
I stared at her, sensing she wasn't finished, and a sense of foreboding crept in around the edges.
"[Kloves] felt a certain pulll between them at that point. And I think he's right. There are moments when [Harry and Hermione] touch, which are charged moments. One when she touches his hair as he sits on the hilltop reading about Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and [two] the moment when they walk out of the graveyard with their arms around eachother."
I was holding my breath at this point. She wasn't done.
"Now the fact is that Hermione shares moments with Harry that Ron will never be able to participate in. He walked out. She shared something very intense with Harry. So I think it could have gone that way."
So how do you fellow Harry/Hermione shippers feel this?
*Happy because:
1) J.K. FINALLY admitted that we weren't "delusional" or "misguided" to see those charged moments, and that the pairing could of actually happened?
2) Harry and Hermione share moments that Ron can never touch!
3) And happy that Steve Kloves saw the H/Hr moments too...and finally called J.K. Rowling on it?
OR
*Pissed because:
1)She actually saw the Harry/Hermione chemistry and instead of running with it she tried to "soften" it and force feed us H/G and R/Hr.
2)She let the HP fandom believe H/Hr shippers were, in fact, crazy all this time.
3) This statement is a little too late. Could've, Should've, Would've...but DIDN'T.
4) And...soulmates? Really?

I'm ecstatic . HHr was my first ship and I'm glad I'm not doomed to forever have failed relationships. _________________ "... I know that love is unconditional. But I also know that it can be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable and strangely easy to mistake for loathing."
*sigh* Yeah...being active in the Harry Potter fandom (and an avid HHr fan) brings back memories
I'm also relieved that she finally admitted to the fact that she saw HHr all along (although I fear it's a bit too late for HHr shippers to shed our "delusional" label, lol). Sometimes the story takes on a life of its own, and it would have been great if she allowed that story to embrace HHr instead of trying to force it into fitting back into her original OBWF plan she had planned out many years prior. But at least we know that the possibility was there (something we knew all along but is now confirmed)

For some reason, I get the feeling that she didn't genuinely mean anything she said... Or, maybe, I'm just paranoid.

My, I'm getting deja vu... I do believe I've heard the 'doomed to have failed relationships' thing before. Hm. _________________

Oh, don't worry, you're not being paranoid. I kind of got that feeling too, but thought it was too cynical to list under the reasons to be pissed list. But you're right, it does almost seem like she just said it because KLOVES (the screenwriter of HP movies) pushed her into admitting that the HHr chemistry and build-up was there. If it was just another HHr fan talking to her about it, she probably would've called us ridiculous, but this time it's almost like she had to cover her own ass.
But then there's another part of me that hopes that (after taking a step back from her novels) she finally was able to see what HHr shippers have seen all along. It's the whole trees and the forest thing, she was too far in it to really judge it objectively the first time around. Perhaps, that's why she wasn't able to see that HHr truly would've been the proper ending (and wasn't able to see the suck-fest that was HBP...and wasn't able to see the major fail that was the Epilogue...and wasn't able to see the complete lack of build-up to H/G)
I also find it interesting that in discussion about HHr, JKR felt the need to re-state her opinion that HG are "soulmates". Intended to be soulmates? Perhaps. Actually written that way? Not by a long shot. It's almost like she's too defensive to actually admit that the book may not have turned out exactly like she had it in her mind. Hence why she could never straight up admit that the HHr relationship was more charged than the canon ones that the novel actually ended with.

It's totally not from an pseudo-anime fandom, I can tell you that. _________________ "... I know that love is unconditional. But I also know that it can be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable and strangely easy to mistake for loathing."

You're right, it does seem like that. u.u
Seeing that I don't like her because she obviously plagiarized "The Worst Witch"... I would be paranoid of anything she says/writes. ^^;
...By any chance, do you know what her birthday (year included) is? I would like to check up on a few things.
EDIT: I just looked up her birthday... And, what do you know? I was right, she's a leo. I don't like leos; no offense to any leos, of course.
And, in the Chinese zodiac, she's a snake. I've always loved people of that sign; why did she have to be a snake? Why?! T____T

Beautiful graphics!
Although I am an avid Ron/Hermione shipper *dodges rotten tomatoes*, I think Harry and Hermione would have been really cute. I love Emma and Rupert, but Dan and Emma look beautiful together and there were definitely a lot of Harry/Hermione that I found shippy in both the books and movies. I'm especially interested to see how that one scene from book seven will play out (the locket) in the movie, with the Harry/Hermione kiss. As for the ending- during the series' reign, I shipped both couples so either way, the outcome wouldn't have disappointed me; though I do prefer Hr/R a bit more, *dodges again* I wonder though, how the later books would have turned out if JK had chosen Hr/H instead. Book three was very pro Hr/H in my opinion.

Don't worry, no tomatoes will be thrown at you
And I definitely can't wait to see how the Evil!HHr kiss will play out in the movie as well. Dan and Emma just have so much chemistry that (even though I love Rupert), I just can't see how a Rupert/Emma kiss would be able to outshine a Dan/Emma kiss. In fact, I didn't even start reading the books until after the first movie came out. I was so convinced that Harry and Hermione would end up together after watching the movie, that I had to read the book immediately and bug my friends (who already read the books thus far) with questions asking if/when HHr got together. The Dan/Emma chemistry was just so strong, and as I read all the books I just fell in love with their supportive/loyal/understanding/trusting/sweet relationship
The good news? We're definitely going to be able to compare/contrast, according to Dan:
Portkey.org wrote:
Dan taped an interview with James Lipton for the Inside the Actors Studio show on Monday, October 6, at Pace University in Lower Manhattan. I was able to attend, and took some notes.
The show will be edited and shown on Bravo, but here are a couple of highlights.
Lipton is a H/Hr shipper! They discussed EVERY Dan project from David Copperfield on, and when it came to GOF, he said "Were you surprised by how the pairings turned out." (And yes, he said "pairings". ) Lipton went on to say he always thought it would be Harry and Hermione. There was a burst of applause and squealing from sizeable portion of the audience. I couldn't hear what was said next over the noise--maybe he was asking for a show of hands/vote? Anyway, Dan replied "The Harry Potter series is not a democracy." He seems pretty sure the Evil Kiss will be in--maybe he has seen the DH script already--he did say he is getting the scripts earlier now. Anyway he said quite affirmatively, "I will have to kiss her [Hermione]." And added that it would be "more hilarious" than anything else.
There's also this quote I found from hpana forums:
hpana.com wrote:
This is from that girl at Leaky who saw HBP:
Well the truth is that the real chemistry seemed to be between Emma and Dan. Now they had chemistry, and it was unfortunate because they were not supposed to. That last scene when they are talking on the top of the tower, there was so much sexual tension especially from Emma that I remember thinking at the time that she must secretly have a crush on Dan. I thought the same when Dan was comforting her after watching Ron and Lavender making out. When they touch each other, that invisible spark, which is missing between Bonnie and Dan and Rupert and Emma, is so bright and electrifying.

^ Wait, she saw HBP? Lucky! It's not supposed to be out until next year!
Those scenes sound interesting. Although I disagree with her comment about Emma and Rupert - I do think they have great chemistry as well - I'm looking forward to these particular scenes between Dan and Emma. I always felt there was something between those two, on and off set.
And LOL glad to know I'm not going to be pelted with tomatoes. I don't like them much actually.

Well it originally was supposed to be released this month, but then they replaced it with Twilight and bumped HP over to next year. So it would make sense that they had audience screenings before when they still thought that it was going to be release this month.

I've always thought that too, especially after seeing how they were at the premiere after PoA was released. But I guess we'll never know
But yeah...I can't wait to see the few scenes Dan and Emma have together.
