I just re-watched "adios Derek" the other day. Wasn't it too cute that Derek hears Casey telling him to prank her in his head? Then he said outloud "good advice Case." and has that loveable Derek smirk on his face. I just LOVE when he calls her Case. I also love when he says to his mom "I got a little distracted" and goes on that shpeal about hacking into Casey's computer and how he couldn't help himself. Then George says "We know you need to be some place where you won't be distracted" the way George says distracted makes me smile, like he suspects his sons obsession with his step-daughter so he needs to send him to Spain. I might be reading to much into this though :p

*snickers* Derek is so distracted by Casey he can't even be in the same country as her.

"Adios Derek" is so full of wonderful Dasey. I love it!

You pointed out some of my favorite scenes in that episode. Derek really can't escape his obsession over Casey. He has conversations with her in his head and he "can't help" but prank her.

I also love that lengthy list of pranks he's pulled on her. She starts the list off at school and nears the end when they enter the house. That's SOME list! And what's Derek's reaction? He's simply amused.

Of course, we can't forget the "Derek roast" scene. I love the looks they give each other. They speak volumes....

And how about Casey crying over Derek leaving?!!?! Even though when he was staying she played it off as though she really didn't want him to, but there was happiness in her voice. And Derek, seeing Casey, didn't want to leave and was so happy to stay. Can't be without each other...

They'd go absolutely nuts without eachother. I loved Adios Derek for the simple fact that it proved just that. That they are attached no matter how much they try to deny it. Annnnnd I wonder if George ever thought about the fact that if he thinks his son is distracted now...what really sending him away would have done to him. Then it would have been worse...

The part where Casey cries made my eyes water cause I was just like 'Oh my God now would just be a perfect time for you both to confess your love to eachother!!!' The way they're looking at eachother during all of it. They made that connection with their eyes that just made them completely vulnerable to eachother. Casey couldn't 'roast' Derek because she melted once the reality of the situation sank in. Her world would be over if he really left.

It's true...they really honestly cannot live without each other.

However, Adios Derek, at least in my opinion, was the episode where Derek realized how much Casey actually means to him. At the risk of sounding cliche , you don't know what you have till it's gone.

I think the threat of Derek leaving made them both really think for a moment about their lives and what things would be like without eachother.

They obviously really didn't like the conclusion.

He seemed hurt that Casey didn't seem all that upset that he was leaving until the roast when she cried that's when he asks to stay...right after that scene! Then uses the whole "I wanna make sure Edwin doesn't get any weirder and Marti doesn't become a keener like Casey" See she's always on his mind! Then he has to make it up by doing something sweet but can't show how much he cares so he writes that other poem. Going out of his way to be sweet and hide it. He SO Loves her!!! You would only go through that much trouble for someone you truly care about!
