DASEY NATION UPDATED RULES
1. Behavior - We cannot stress it enough, but SOME of you keep forgetting about this one: for the love of Dasey... GET ALONG!
That's really the only rule we had started the forum with, but recent circumstances have caused us to create a longer, and more thorough synopsis on this.
We are not saying that there will be no disagreements in this forum. It's going to happen as long as we remain human, breathing, and living. However, BASHING is not acceptable.
If there is a difference of opinions - set up a healthy debate thread. You are free to do so. In fact, WE ENCOURAGE THEM. Debates are great fun - and a very friendly way of voicing your opinions.
Also, we wanted to remind you all that once you're a member here - you become part of the representation of Dasey Nation. You help represent what it's all about. If a visitor comes to check it out and sees a bunch of bickering between members? It will be hard for them to want to join. Which isn't fair to them.
On the other hand, if they see everyone acting civil towards one another and getting along and displaying decent behavior... not only will they be more tempted to join, but they might convince others to join as well. They'll have good things to say about the forum, and they'll feel welcomed.
2. Experience - Some members have been here a lot longer than others, and we rely on you guys to take NEW MEMBERS under your wing. Show them around the forum, direct them to active and friendly topics, and most importantly... corrupt them into eternal Dasey damnation!
We want every member - new and old - to enjoy every moment of Dasey there has been and will be.
Newer members to the forum and the fandom have the right to ask questions, so we ask all of you older members - or members that have been experiencing the fandom for a while now - to PLEASE BE PATIENT with those who haven't. Everyone has the right to know just how truly awesome Dasey is, but if one of us acts superior or haughty about it and constantly tells them what they know is wrong, etc., the Dasey fandom could be cut short a member.
We represent an AWESOME ship, and it's ridiculous when some people are turned away from it/us, just because we don't take a few minutes to show them a good thread to get into - or have the patience to explain why Derek and Casey are such a perfect match.
None of us are any better than the others. Miranda and I, as administrators, are no better than our mods, or members, and we're all here for the same reason - to ship Dasey.
Remember how it felt when you first fell in love with Dasey? Like it set you on fire and you had to watch every episode and every YouTube video, and read every fanfiction you could?
It'd be awful to deny someone else that right, wouldn't it?
So yes, let's be patient with the new members and suck them into the world that is Dasey!
3. Posting - Mostly everyone on the forum by now knows what threads should go under what topics. Once in a while, we know there will be stray topics lingering here and there in the wrong forums, which is fine. It's a Mod/Admin's job to find them and move them. However, it is not a Mod/Admin's job to fix excessive flooding and/or the ignorance of someone who just didn't feel like changing forums. Miranda and I will no longer tolerate flooding. If you flood the forum, you'll be warned. If you continue... you'll be banned.
As far as posting in the wrong forum, use your best judgement. If you have a question about a fanfiction you read once? It would belong in Dasey Stories. If you want to know what episode a certain screencapture came from? Dasey Pictures. Just do your best. If you misplace it, we will move it. However, it's one thing to geniuinely not know; it's another thing to abuse the rights you have to post at all.
Also, and this is a HUGE one... a lot of topics discussed actually have older threads sometimes. You may have to do a bit of searching, but some members might have already voiced their opinions on the subject of your topic before. So we encourage you to search for similar/previous topics. Not only will it help prevent flooding and repetition, but most topics have been discussed in GREAT detail, and you'll probably find more than what you've bargained for in most of them.
4. Content - Cursing and content is tolerated with PROPER WARNING and USAGE.
We will NOT tolerate any of you cursing towards another members by any means, however. We know that in fanfictions sometimes - and 'Caption This!' - that cursing is used in a humourous measure. Once again, it is acceptable in that aspect, but not if you're using it against another member.
Fanfiction content: if it's going to be above PG-13 IT MUST HAVE A WARNING somewhere in the thread title. There are some members who don't prefer to read certain content. So don't forget to include the warnings. It's only responsible.
5. Representation - This kind of coincides with behavior. But really what we want to touch on in this topic is shipping. We know that even though we're DASEY NATION, and it's a place for shipping Dasey - that there are going to be members who also don't mind the Nasey/Dally/Masey pairings and etc.
This is still no reason for any ridiculous fighting. Shipping should be enjoyed. Some of us here are die hard Dasey fans, while some of us are Dasey fans, yet...Nasey's alright. Or Dally's alright. So forth. Ships are the most awesome thing to debate, and the most stupidest thing to fight about. Anyone who decides to throw different ships around to cause trouble or start problems will be warned - then banned if the problem continues. Once again - we do represent DASEY.
But others are going to ship other ships as well. It's not wrong. But if used to get under another members skin - it is unacceptable. Do not do it here. Take it elsewhere.
We appreciate you all taking the time to read this. We are so in love with all of our Dasey family, and we're trying to look out for everyone. So please, let's all do our best from now on to keep Dasey Nation the best place for the fandom!
