Wow. This community is getting big. Totally exciting - I thought I was the only person out there who thought Derek and Casey had massive doses of unresolved sexual tension, and that made me feel slightly perverted. At least I'm not the only who thinks that way! ; )
Anyway, since this is the introduction forum, I figure I'll introduce myself.
My name is Jessica, and I'm from southern Alberta. Which is in Canada. I'm a huge fan of the classics - be they novels, movies, or music. Film noir and sixties music are my passions.
Aside from musicals, that is. Name a musical - I've probably seen it, heard it, or studied it. From Grease to The Drowsy Chaperone, my selection is huge.
I love the colour yellow, and I love to read. My entire life's focus is based on reading. I also enjoy critiquing the work of other people. If you ever need a "beta reader" - someone to check for any mechanical errors, spelling mistakes, or to tell you it just doesn't make sense - then I'm the girl for you.
That beta skill comes in handy for fanfic writers out there ;D
Life with Derek is the only show on Family Channel that I actually watch... and I watch it religiously, even though it's repeats every night. I'm still waiting for a Youtube version of Make No Prom-ises, When Derek Meets Sally, and A Very Derekus Christmas. Le sigh. If only someone would hurry up and get them out there.
Last thing I want to say - doesn't the song "Home" by Chris Daughtry make you instantly think "DASEY" ?
Hope I get the chance to know you all a bit better in the future. I wonder if there's a Facebook group. Hmm...

Hello Jessica! Great to meet you! I think a lot of us thought we were the only ones who saw the sexual tension between Casey and Derek and I wa also ashamed thinking that I was the only one who wanted them together, but then found the huge fan base dedicated to them.
So you're a beta reader? May I ask you a Grammar question? Is it "i'm lying in bed" or "laying"
and "I wish he were here" or "was here"? I'm thinking it was were but either one is a past tense and wish is a future description word? *shrug*
I love musicals! I still need to see Wicked, I used to listen to it religiously. I've seen Showboat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Le Mesriables, phantom, Cats and think that's it.
AVDC and MNP is on you tube so is WDMS. Have you looked up the name cupcake101 or Jesterdala?
I was listening to home the other day and thought about Dasey. it's funny how I zone into these songs and all of a sudden I see all these Derek/Casey scenes in my head. _________________

"I am lying on the bed," and "I wish he were here" are the appropriate forms of both words. ;P You start to pick these things up, haha.
I haven't actually seen any of these musicals performed live - the only one being Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat - but I have DVDs and videos of many, and the soundtracks of many more. Les Mis has some great music, and both Wicked and The Drowsy Chaperone are my most recent obsessions.
All three of them, already? It feels as though I was just going through cupcake101's videos, watching the episodes I'd missed. If they're up, then I must not have looked in quite some time. Thanks for telling me; I'd still be whining about it otherwise. Christmas break is almost here, and now I know what I'll be spending my time doing.
There are a lot of songs that surprise me into recognising some Dasey aspects. Like, Smokey Robinson's cheesy songs especially. There are some really good ones. But some other fanfic writer beat me to the punch on old Smokey. d: |

Ay yes! A Canadian to join the ranks. I'm from Ontairo.
I once thought I was alone in my total Dasey warped mind but alas, I found alot of other people who ship them too.
Anyways, welcome! _________________

Hello! Nice to meet - er - see your post. I watch LWD almost every day even though it's repeats too. Most of them never seem to get old to me though. I actually have this weird thing where whenever I listen to a song, any song really, I zone off into outer Dasey space and all these scenes pop into my head. That's usually how I think of stuff to do on You Tube. =}
Anyways, have a nice pre-Christmas day! _________________

Oh so it's lying! I'll have to remember that. Thank you!!
Wicked is amazing! I've been watching Pushing Dasies and Kristin Chenoweth is so adorable. I adore her! I don't know about the Drowsy chaperone. I know a little from Sweeny Tod and I know a lot of songs from Avenue Q another one i'd like to see! There are some beautiful songs from les mis, it's been a while since i've listened to it though. I used to listen to the broadway station a lot when I borrowed my dads car with Sirius radio lol.
Yeah I caught all those episodes you mentioned on youtube. So happy we got to see MNP waaay in advanced, i'm not even sure if they aired rumor mill on Disney. I can't remember.
Do you make your own fan-vids? _________________

Ohhhhh, no. I'm pretty much useless when it comes to technology. Searching the internet and opening Microsoft Word are the only things I can do well. ;') I watch some, though! Depends on which songs they're made to, however. If I don't like the song, I don't like the video by default.
Thanks to everyone here and their nice welcomes. I hope to become more active in this community once Christmas break really starts up. |
