Mike
I heard a M-1000 the other day that blew me away and the Guys name is Bob here in Austin at webuystarts.com.
He was getting the most awesome Stevie and Jimi tones and at low volumes.
He said he would post his settings, I'll call him again today to get him to post them.
Playing through the Ampeg VL- 502 on the clean channel I got the sweet "brown sound",,, by running the ch.1 gain almost at ten ,, then the master ch.1 almost at ten ,, then by using the power attn. playing at a very low ,, almost talking ,, level,,,it was so sweet,,,
Now mind you,, I have a feeling that the type of pickups and guitar will make a big difference in the sound,,I was using a $99 PRS knockoff,,having P.A.F. style Humbuckers,,each around 7.75k

Here are a few settings I have been experimenting with on my M-1000. They sound pretty good with a stock Strat (I'm using a '58 maple neck for this demo) and no overdrive or gain pedals. I am using the M-1000 with a mid 1980's Marshall 4-10 cabinet. It's nice and tight and can handle the amps power. Assuming each notch on the panel has a value of "2" (going up to 20) here are the numbers. Mid shift settings are 1-6. Have fun and tweak these to mystify and amaze your friends! Thanks, Bob.
