I was reading my local paper this morning (The Cornishman) and noticed the story about telegram boys.I worked for the G.P.O. when I left school at 15 years of age.I always remeber one saturday taking a telegram to a gentleman telling him that he had won the football pools. He was thrilled and gave me £1.00.About 2 hours later I had to go back to the same gentleman and tell them they made a mistake. I still kept the £1.00.
