No that's really interesting!
It has to be foreshadowing. They could have chosen something else with a different storyline and signifigance if they didn't want to drop a hint...right?

In French we had to write about a horror movie (we have weird assignments..) so I chose Mary Shelley, and the interesting thing is that Percy Shelley seemed to be quite the stud when it came to the women, Mary's half-sister was in love with him and killed herself not long after they got married. It doesn't exactly tie into LWD but it seems that Percy does reflect Derek alot. _________________

| I can't believe that I forgot to mention that part! Ugh! It was in my notes on the Shelleys... I really do need to find those notes. |

OMG, that's amazing about Percy Shelley. I was always facinated by his work, but never knew his background. Forbidden love is quite an interesting topic to just pick randomly, so it makes sense that it's because of his cousin. That's actually really sad.
Thank you so much for the info. You really know your stuff. _________________

Haha that's good, because I was gonna say... I hope you're not implying that Lizzie is secretly harboring feelings for Derek and the second Dasey happens she's gonna kill herself. _________________

Wow his background really ties into the show! That's amazing. I've never heard of him until I saw that LWD episode, he sure had an interesting life. _________________

This really makes me want to dig out my Sophomore Literature book that has a biography of Shelley in it. I also have notes from that semester that I can compare with it.
While Percy had some strange ideas, many English writers at that time were quite liberal in their thinking. Add that with my teacher's incredible enthusiasm for the subject, and that proved to be a very interesting class! _________________

Sadly, as far as we went into Percy Shelley was his relationship with Mary. Our English courses focus mostly on Shakespeare so I won't be able to study much poetry beyond Shakespeare... But I think that there's a project later on in the year where we can pick a poet and write a biography on them or something... _________________

The subject of Mary and Percy Shelly has been fascinating. I've been keeping up with the posts in this thread, and while I haven't joined in the convo - I think that the story and all the inside facts of it all seems great - no wonder Derek and Casey dressed as the couple. And for the writers to choose this couple is interesting in itself. Definately has some meaning behind it. _________________

There is way too much in common with Percy and Mary Shelley and Derek and Casey for it to be just a coincidence. That had to be intentional. _________________

Lol, to tell the truth, me neither! I've never heard of the Shelly's before that episode. |

| Okay, found my notes. They're in my car. So I'm going to read over them all again tomorrow and see if I left anything out that I can add or word anything better. |
