My 501 has suddenly lost a great deal of volume. It still works, but isn't nearly as loud. I replaced ALL the tubes and took it to my tech, but he doesn't have the schematics. Anyway, he tested and cleaned everything, but no luck.
Any ideas? |

| I had the same problem on mine. There is a resistor (I can't remember if it is a 100 ohm or 100k) that connects to the main volume control. Mine opened and caused what is happening to yours. I see from another post that you have the schematics, so check that first. Hope it helps. |

Problem solved. One of the resistors to the Phase Inverter tube was open. My tech fixed it for free!
Thanks to BM for the schematics!!
It's BACK!!!  |
