| these things definitely seem to be the real deal. i feel i am the most lucky person on my side of the solar system, as i recently purchased an xls 500 head for 35 dollars at a Watertown, NY pawnshop that was going out of business. on a different note, what dose anyone recommend for replacement output tubes, as i am sure these are getting old...i feel extremely lucky to have this beast as my first tube amp. |

New Tung-Sol 6550s or old Sylvania 6CA7s.
Let me know if you are ever interested in selling yours. Keep in mind that there is a very small market for them and most are looking for the XLS 1000. I would give you a fair payment. I just have a big curiosity about the 500 that won't be satisfied until I get one. I have already passed on two of the 1000s. |
