Ok, I know this is a depressing post, but what if Dasey doesn't happen? From the way the series is progressing it certainly looks like it is, but with the warmth Noel and Sally were recieved we can't be certain that Casey and Derek won't end up with them instead of each other. What if shaftesbury decided to stay on the safe side and avoid the controversy completely by completely annhilating dasey? As a faithful Dasey shipper, What would you do then? I thought about it, and I want to hear more opinons on this....

I voted for Derek and Casey both to be single. I don't like them paired up with anyone but each other, so I don't want the show to end that way. I think it would be nice that if there was no Dasey, the show could end with them being friends. I think that option leaves the most possibility for them in the future. _________________ because maybe, you're gonna be the one who saves me.

Hey it's gonna happen. They don't make a non-blood related "Brother" and "Sister" say these things..
"Derek may I speak to you..in private?"
"Derek what have you done to the children?!"
For no reason at all. Not to mention the literary references from Ivanhoe.
Still if it doesn't happen then I will be furious. I mean why make them act that way if nothing was gonna happen? If they didn't want us to ship dasey, then they should have killed it a LONG time ago. I'm getting off-topic here,lol. So if it doesn't happen I would just stop watching the show altogether...Ok maybe I'll go back to see the rest just out of curiosity, but...I'd rather have Derek and Casey go off to seperate colleges or whatever, and be friends I guess. _________________ Artemus: Plush, Mr. Pudding.

I'm one of those shippers who believes that they won't be ending up together on the show. It makes me sad but I really don't think we'll ever really see it.
So I think Casey should be with Noel. We haven't seen a lot of him, but I think he's such a cool guy and he'd be really good for Casey.
Anddddd-- Don't kill me for this-- I'm still hoping for some Demily. I hated fangirl Emily, but it's been proved over and over that she's WAY past that and they are just friends now. But I just think it would be so cute for Derek to turn around and realize that Emily is awesome. _________________

The writers aren't THAT cruel...
Also it would be a waste of camera time and space to put that in for nothing. I know LWD is low-budget, but those lines weren't necessary. Casey could've yelled at Derek in the living room instead of telling him to follow her so they could "Talk". She also could have asked another way if Edwin,Lizzie, and Marti were alright without having to look all motherly coming home. She could have said (after coming to a stop from running) the conversation this way..
"Derek? Uh..where are Edwin,Marti, and Lizzie?"
"Hiding like cowards."
"What did you do?" (said in a slightly annoyed voice)
"Nothing."
"Oh really?"
[Everyone comes running downstairs]
Everyone blames Derek, Teddy leaves, and blah blah blah.
So my point is they could've done it this way, but they chose not to. That had to have been for a reason.

Does anyone know how to edit polls? I wanna add a few more options in it, since maybebaby stated the possibility of demily, and lwdandcasey said a possibility of a boycotting the series. but I have a positive vibe that dasey will gets together and there will be no need for boycotting. About the nasey thing, I like Noel but there is just something about him that doesn't make me want him to end up with Casey, I feel like it's sam all over again, because in the beginning the fandom all liked Sasey, but then bit by bit he starts to lose his personality and starts agreeing to everything Casey says. All of Casey's relationships always changes either herself or her boyfriend, Derek is the only person I can see in a relationship with Casey and remain, quoting Casey, "100 percent himself". It's not that I don't like Noel, I do, he's a pretty cool character, and I think he would make a great friend for Casey, or Derek even, but I think if they became more than that, the show would become really boring, because they have aboslutely everything in common, meaning that there won't be any UST, debates, banter, or any of the stuff we love on Derek and Casey.
You know the other reason I KNOW dasey is gonna come true? I'm surprised no one brought this up yet, but didn't ASHLEY LEGGAT say that there will be hot dasey action in the 5th (actually 4th) season? So many people on her chat has confirmed it, it's gotta be true. So I agree with you lwdandcasey, and I sure hope your lucky streak continues!

A lot of people have speculated that the 'Hot Dasey Action' could have been a kinda 'ha that's cute!' type of comment made by Ashley in regards to some asking about it.
But as far as the poll, I think you just click the edit button for your first post and the poll editing thing should be there too. _________________

Wouldn't it be awesome if shaftesbury makes a new spin off show about Casey and Derek's life in college? I think a spin off is pretty plausible, sucessful shows usually have them, and it would totally solve the step sibs problem because since it's about life in college, it wouldn't be aimed at teeny boppers. So even if we can't get our dasey fix in Life With Derek, we could in College With Derek, or whatever the spinoff would be named. The producers are aware of the fanbase, and even though they might not be able to give us dasey stright away, I'm convinced they'll deliver it to us one way or another, unless they want their mailboxes to be filled with hatemail... _________________ "... I would like at least a small line or something that would hint at Dasey before the series is over. I could see that working out and not being as controversial.

^That is exactly 100% how I feel.
But I believe something will happen before the series end. Like I said, the writers aren't that cruel. Plus I read alot of anti comments that say something like 'the ratings for the show would be horrible if they hook Derek and Casey up!' But given the fact that 95% of LWD fans do ship Dasey, I imagine the ratings would be alot worse if they didn't.
And I know they're aware of the huge Dasey fandom - so I doubt they'd let the majority suffer over the minor.
However, in that slight chance Dasey wouldn't be put together in the end - I can really see Derek saying something like 'You know...if things would have been different...' or just as Miranda said, 'It's too bad we're step-siblings cause...'
I told myself I wasn't going to read this post, because I'm one of those people who doesn't know what she wants. Half the time I WANT onscreen Dasey, the other half I don't. I agree with Kaitie, except for the Demily thing (sorry! ) So here goes my very long analysis, sorry guys!
I think a) a line like Lady Azura's is as far as they're gonna go, if they go that far. I really like that line, though, so I hope there's some variation on that in the series finale/movie. The kids who watch the show aren't seeing the Dasey, so it would be weird for them, I think, to all of a sudden have Dasey happen. They HAVE to leave it at hints to please ALL their fans (this is why I'm hoping they leave them both single at the end- that way, Dasey can happen offscreen in the near future and the anti-Daseys/kids can keep thinking there's nothing there. I think everyone wins that way.) It's true, Steph, that there are more Daseyers than anti's, but I have a feeling they're going to stay true to the fact it's a family show, and let's face it, it IS a little weird to have them get together. Not wrong, just not...typical. And b) My expectations of Dasey are too high- I'd rather they DIDN'T show it on screen. I have doubts about how realistic/good they can make it on a family show. I'd rather let the fanfic and fanvids go on forever so we can have them get together however we each want. (Because I know we all have our fantasies about it!) Leaving it open ended, without Dasey, is going to ensure that the fandom lives on. Though we'll take a lot of abuse from anti's, I'm going to be selfish here and say I'd rather keep writing and reading fics of how they get together in different ways, instead of just having the one set canon way, which we know is not going to involve anything naughty because it's a family show.
But bottom line is, time will tell. I like the College with Derek idea, personally. And they definitely need to end up single, if not with each other. Then again, if it DOES end Nasey/Dally, we don't see the rest of their lives. They could break up five seconds after the finale and get together. Nothing's set in stone. _________________

Agree 100% with what you said. A spin-off that would be geared towards an older audience would be the best possibility for Dasey but I don't think that it would go from a family oriented show to a teen show like that. I don't see it happening but who knows. Maybe that package will help out our cause _________________
