I'm concidering exchanging the Output tubes for EL-34, wich do YOu recommend... I want a true 80's Hard-Rock sound...

And for replacing the Pre-amp tubes Wich shoud I go for???

I still find the Chinese 12ax7 to be best sound, Now that said you have to go through a box of them to find those that are quiet.
I also like the Electroharmonix 12ax7EH, and those too need to be sorted for the quiet ones.
Last but not least are the Sovtek 12ax7wxt, that is a great tube, it doesn't have over the top gain like the chinese 12ax7.
Also stay away from the Chinese 12ax7B's, I don't know were those came from, but they are worse than horrible, I bought a bunch and I think I didn't even get one useable one.

On Outputs I really like the (Tesla) J/J EL-34, and I have heard good sounding Electroharmonix EL-34's.

Stay away from Svetlana or Chinese EL-34's.

Svetlana does make a great 6550, but there 12ax7 is dull as mud.

And of coarse if you can find NOS Mullard EL-34's, and last but not least the Sylvania 6CA7, if you can find them they sound the best out of all of them.
