Well, I went to my overstuffed storage unit--and dug out the following.
A Bullfrog 1X15 Cab!
It weighs about seventy pounds!
It's an 8Om, EVM, or is that EMV? All I know is a lot of Mesa's have these kind of speakers I think.
This cab seems quite capable of dispersing loudness without seeming to want to blow the speaker out like the 100 watt was want to do.
I think the speaker in the 1X15 is 200,300, or perhaps even 400watts!
Can I, now set the Oms to 16, and play through both the 100watt 8om cab that was sold with the power block---and the Bullfrog too? Or do both speakers have to be the same wattage?
I would love to have another 1X15!
Can you imagine a 4X15 speaker cab!! It would be on big wheels!
Still can only get the legendary stealth distortion at 5 and over---too loud for the apt.
I've tried all kinds of settings using the preamp and master volume, with gain on ten, and it just does not cut it at low volumes. So I use various distortion pedals on the clean channel.
Perhaps an overdrive on the distortion channel would work at low volumes?
Any ideas?

George,,, No,,, the 16ohm setting can damage the amp,,,use the 4ohm setting,,,
2 16ohm cabinets = the 8ohm setting
2 8ohm cabinets = the 4ohm setting
If one of the cabinets have more than one input/output,,hook it to the amp ,, and then add the other cabinet to the first ,, daisy chain style,, 2 8ohm cabinets will make a 4ohm load for the amp ,,, set it at 4ohm,,,,,,
Hope this helps,,

I must be getting old,,,I had forgot that there is no 4ohm setting on the gt50,,,It is the same on my Stealth GT50 combo,,,, the GT combo ,, was designed with a single 16ohm speaker ,, with an option to add 1 other external cabinet,,,
The best and safest thing to use is a special speaker cable made to combine the 2 8ohm cabinets into a 16ohm load,,,I had one when testing amps and speakers at the plant,,
The speaker cable is wired (in series) ,, that means in order for either cabinet to work ,, both cabinets would have to be plugged in,, It is nothing more than a giant Y speaker cable wired in series,,,
You can make one your self,, using a simple ohm meter to check the total ohms of the circuit (speakers),,2 8ohm speakers combined in series should get you in the 10-14 ohm range,, with this settup using either the 8ohm or 16ohm setting will work ,,but i would still leave it on the 8ohm setting,,,,
