Follow the commentary and the pictures.
"...and they actually get along pretty well."
All the kids were smiling at Derek in the pic above, but look at the way Casey is smiling at him. Sort of reminds me of the way she looked at him in SSB.
Casey snaps herself out of it...
She gets up very quickly in this scene...
Here it looks like Derek is looking at Casey.
So there is dasey in AVDC!!!! You just had to look for it. Also look at this quote:

So, I finally got around to watching AVDC (thanks to JesterDala on YouTube) and I was reading your post when I thought of something.
I think Casey's just disappointed because Max just seemed like some kind of Prince Charming, you know? I mean, he was Captain of the football team, obviously extremely popular if he managed to beat out DEREK of all people for Prom King in MNP, and not hard on the eyes... for most girls anyway.  I'd take Derek over him any day of the week, but that's just me.
Moving on... I can't help but feel as though it was an act, because later on in the episode when she stole (I say steal because she just took it) Lizzie's bed, she pretended to be all sad and distraught over the break-up, even though she was clearly not at all upset and just trying to guilt poor Lizzie into giving up her bed.
Speaking of which, I just love Lizzie's retort afterwards, didn't anyone else?
Back to the topic though.
Basically, what I'm trying to say, is... she didn't seem all that upset to me.  |
Hmm....that's a very interesting point. I just watched it on youtube and if Casey was really upset she would be looking all sad in Lizzie's bed, but instead she looked happy reading her book. It's only when Lizzie wants her off the bed that she starts bringing up their break-up as a sob story to stay on the bed.
Maybe the press release is right  but maybe this was the foreshadowing for next season! Which means that maybe something  happened in TTGBITN..but Derek probably decided "Uh...okay let's not talk about this again, and make it seem like you're not over Max just so we don't raise any suspicions." lol

Ah I love it Joanne!!! *crosses her fingers for TTGBITN* I cannot WAIT to see this episode. No matter how AVDC was....I just know that episode is still going to be awesome!
And I love those screencaps. Casey is looking at him with those eyes...the ones she gave him in SSB!!

One should also note that the Derek ornament was next to her. I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but hey, I'll take it.

Indeed. And it deff looks like he's looking at her in that last shot. The others are shorter, so if it was one of them, his head I think would be more as if he was looking down slightly.

I dunno that was kind of weird she never met Casey before or seen them interact yet she knew Casey should go upstairs and talk to Derek. Maybe she's just an observant older lady and thinks that a pretty young girl around his age living there would be a nice distraction. ;)
Love the pictures you posted and lets not forget Derek still manages to barge into Casey's bedroom and that always makes us happy.

I know that. I just found it interesting how the Derek ornament was in that screencap and not anybody else's.

That ornament makes me laugh...but it is interesting that only Derek's ornament was next to Casey...although it was probably just a coincidence... But we're allowed to look into things!

AVDC was a good epi ! I loved the "except for Casey and Derek" and the "I am the last person in the world who could make Derek do something he doesn't wanna do".
