Clever treatment I think but rubbish
In Malton the German says "Out with the old and in with the new" (6)
MALTON minus ALT = "old" in German with DER ("the" in German) inserted. New = def |

Article in German appearing in The Scotsman and in Vogue (6)
DER inside MON, def = in vogue, The Scotsman is a newspaper used to wrap the chips that are served with deep fried Mars bars and Vogue is something women "read" at the hairdresser's. |

7dNigePun's:
Love-struck doormen turn in (6)
and anax's:
Prevailing wind on Med suppressing onset of rain (6)
came close.
But for its sheer ingenuity of construction, the spoils must go to penfold-61's:

Thank you for that one, penfold-61. Marvellous! |
