I was talking to Dean (fanficrulez i think) and he was watching LWD and mentioned this moment that I had noticed and we didn't know if anyone had mentioned it, but I figured I'd explain it here.

When Derek and Sam are talking about girls, Sam says he and Casey are good friends and Derek says go ahead waste your time with the cute girl.

And thus, Derek calls Casey cute!
AND He says that Sam is wasting his time with her because he knows that Derek and Casey are destined to be together, so any guy she dates now is just a waste of her time until he makes his move.

Actually, even though I used to think Derek was talking about Casey, he actually isn't (well, from my observations). I haven't seen the episode in a while, but from what I remember, Sam calls the girl he's looking at "a cute girl". Derek doesn't know her name, so when Sam uses an example by saying he's good friends with Casey even now, Derek says, "Fine, be friends with the cute girl." I'm pretty sure he's actually referring to the girl Sam saw, not Casey.

Oh, I loved that moment. I was watching that episode yesterday actually. And I caught what he said and my mouth just completely dropped open. My thoughts were: Wait, did he just refer to Casey as....cute?! And then I squeeled. >.<
