I just rewatched 'The Wedding' from season one and I realized just how unnecessary this moment was.
I always loved him wrapping him arm around her without her reacting, at all, but it's just out of nowhere. I mean honestly, what was the point?! Watch the lovely Daseyness of this scene starting at 3:30.

Constant need to touch each other but not hug? Interesting....
In alot of episodes it seems like they don't understand the meaning of personal space when it comes to each other. It's a beautiful thing! _________________
I can't really tell but it either looks like he pulls her closer or she gets closer to him. So not only does he put his arm around her he pulls he closer to his body.
I just watched it again attempting to stop pause make it slower, she looks so comfortable like that. She leans against him also. _________________
Anywho - yes they definately look comfortable together. Him with his arm around her - her leaning into his shoulder/chest...yea!! Good stuff! _________________
I think with the slow mo in this picture, it captures how Casey leans in. She's already starting to lean in before he rests his hand on her! It makes me smile...like this
That picture is great! It really captures that picture well! She is so comfortable around him and you can tell she likes when he makes the move. ;) _________________

Lol, yea!! I love how she leans into him!!! AWWWW!!! lol
I love that scene in "The Wedding" for the sole purpose of the unnecessary need to touch each other. I agree with the OP. There was absolutely no reason for Derek to drape his arm around Casey's shoulders, but he did anyway. _________________

^ yeah I know! They touch all the time for no reason, and a lot of it is Derek putting his arm around Casey's shoulder. Aww, they are so in love...(yet so in denial...)

In all honesty here, the touching isn't necessary to the plot so it has to be there for another reason...I think a reason we all know very well... _________________
There was also no need to hide Vicky's face. They could've hidden Derek's but they didn't.
Am I the only one who found this scene unessecary? I mean they could've just said "Derek kissed Vicky." Then show everything before the wedding and that's it. There was no need to show Edwin filming them. _________________ Artemus: Plush, Mr. Pudding.
