|
|
Hi, I used the Jackson mod kit and DVD on my Concert head and did a complete cap job (the amp is about 24 years old). Is it OK to do a partial mod (change out the 3 caps and 4 resistors at the beginning of the DVD and not do the mid-switch mod?).
If the partial mod is OK, do I still change the one tube from At7 to Ax7? Or is that just for the mid switch?
If I burn or melt the casing on a cap (slightly) should I not use it? Can I order more if that is the case?
I did the first part of the mod and the cap job. One cap casing was slightly melted and I put black elctrical tape around it. I formed the caps gradually with an isolated variable power supply, as the DVD instructs) so far without the tubes, and I don't notice a problem with the damaged cap, yet.
Thanks,
George |
