First of all .... *SQUEEE!!!* Season 4 HAS ARRIVED!
Where to start - ah! The opening credits, how wonderful, how awesome were they??! I love the sequence with all the 'kids' doing the 'all for one' type thing. And of course - the Dasey in the intro alone is great! I mean, he picks her up and carries her off! *sigh* So cute!
Okies - onward with the actual episode!
First off - Marti is so flipping adorable. And might I add - Edwin has turned into a young man! A very handsome young man at that!
Score for Team Emily with the whole 'Casey, it's over, move on'.
When Casey gets home after being upset at seeing Max during school, I caught the first hint of Dasey there - not only does Casey part Sally and Derek apart by walking through them - but Derek's gaze lingers after her like a longing. My first squee happened upon watching this moment.
Derek and Sally's almost constant bickering during this episode proves a few things to me. 1 - they will NOT last. 2 - Derek is already more annoyed at her than I thought he would be. 3 - It's obvious he does not view her as perfect anymore.
Derek wants to go upstairs and talk to Casey during her sadness. Eeep! Of course though - who knows Casey better than Derek? No one.
The scene where Sally says something along the lines of 'the guy I thought I knew' (refferring to Derek), and Casey replies with 'sounds just like the guy I know I know.' Clearly that's showing the advantage Casey always will have over Sally, because Casey does know Derek. And no one else knows him as well as she does. Or ever will. BAM! In your face Sally!
Who else loved the part where Edwin can't say no to Sally, but Derek sure can? He will allow small adjustments to his behavior because of her, but he WILL NOT CHANGE for her. However, how many times have we seen before now that Casey has clearly changed him? I don't care what anyone says. Derek is in love with Casey.
He also says he will be nice on his own terms. So....all those times he's been nice to Casey, have been his own choice, his own doing. Yet, he won't do it for the girlfriend he used to claim as 'perfect'???
Casey and Max are officially over! WHOOO!
THE HULA HOOP!!! AHHHH! It returns!! It's like a symbol now.
Edwin being the ladies man at the party was fantastic. He really was adorable as can be in this episode. Not much Lizzie - but I'm sure that will change. Though the blue screen Lizwin was great.
Marti had the most kicka** party ever! And I loved when Derek said that he was a big fan of hers. He needs to teach her NOT to miss Max though. That part irked me.
George...ohhh man.
Overall I think this was a fantastic start of the season.
It seems as if the relationship between Derek and Casey is stronger than ever - if we remember we sometimes have to read between the lines. They still have their playful banter, longing gazes, and fantastic chemistry like always!
Okay, so I already posted this on another thread, but Imma put it again...
Dude, I know! I just finished watching it! I LOVE the new opening credits! So much Derek + Casey laughing together! It rocks! And Daniel has grown SO much, it's unreal. I'm just like... woa, go you! And so has Jordan! And Ashley's hair looks fantastic and I definitely love Mike's ever-messy mess. lol Nora's rocks pretty hard, too. Did you SEE how long Marti's is? Jeez.
Aaaand, now for my official post-episode rant:
I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it. Derek is WHIPPED. Do you realize what this means? Sally is stickin around. For a looong time. Ugh. Has anyone noticed that she has a sort of Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Sara Michelle Gellar look going on?
I mean... NO ONE is supposed to be able to have Derek wrapped around her finger like that except for when he and Casey get together. I mean... really, now! It's just NOT FAIR!
Why, why, why did they have to make her so PERFECT for him?
She got him to CLEAN. Without asking. Derek, cleaning. Voluntarily. This is not good in Dasey-land, you guys. Not good.
Although, the bossing him around thing has got to get on his nerves eventually, right? Right?
Jeez, I'm so desperate. I just want them to break up already so he can focus on Casey and how he has some intense romantic feelings for her. (coughlovecough) I mean, Casey's already covered in the single department. (By the way, I kinda have a new-found fondness for Max now. He was really nice about the way he ended things with her. I thought it was really sweet. And so was that little girl trying to marry Edwin. Haha!)
Come on, someone. Soothe my aching heart with some unnoticed-by-me Dasey moments...

Okay A couple kissy faces.... (Thanks Rulsie!) THE OPENING CREDITS and The Fact that Derek plays A LOT of attention to Casey's relationships and knows her in and out- even how she needs to go about breaking out with Max. IT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME.
Marti was really cute- her hair is so long. And I think Nora looked really pretty.. Hmm... THE RETURN OF THE HOOLAHOOP. Umm.. Nothing else really. It was a really cute episode. _________________

I feel like crying and happy dancing all at the same moment.
Reasons for crying:
1. Too much Sally
2. Derek and Sally kissed
3. Not enough Dasey moments
4. Max was in it
Reasons for happy dancing:
1. NEW EPISODE!
2. Everyone looks GREAT
3. New theme credits
4. One of the CUTEST/FUNNIEST dasey moments yet (ice cream being poured on Casey's head..hehe)
5. Max was called a horse!
6. Max and Casey didn't get back together! (soooo effing thankful for this)
7. Derek gave Casey this adorable kissy look near the beginning

Okay... so maybe this is my inner-Dasey speaking... but Derek not wanting Casey to go with him and Sally to the movies? Could it be because he knew that he would pay more attention to Casey than to Sally?
(Or because he wants to make out with Sally... I know, I'm grasping. *sigh*)
Oh, and I am LOVING the hula-hoop part. When I saw it I was like "YES! Force shield RE-activated!!!"
The hula hoop is just...it reached another level of greatness tonight. It's what Derek does when he wants Casey to remember she belongs to him. Okay, totally my Dasey warped mind right there. But anyways - it's just too cute. _________________
First of all I hardly saw any Dasey bantering at all. I'm not saying that there wasn't any, I'm just saying that it seemed like it was lacking in this episode. I thought that the whole Derek and Sally fighting was symbolizing that they're not gonna stay together for long. The reason I say this is because it's only the first episode of season 4 yet they can't stop arguing.
I really liked the symbolizing of the hula hoop. It brought me back to Summer School Blues. I really think that Mike and Ashley realize how much we like Dasey and so they're trying to give us a sign that it's going to happen or sooner or later. It seems sort of obvious to me that they used the hula hoop to show Dasey love. My favorite part besides the hula hoop scene was when Derek pours the bowl of melted ice cream over Casey's head. I especially like this scene because I think it refers back to season 1.
I thought it was weird the way Derek and Max were hanging out together, like when Derek saw Max hanging out with Casey he decided to go over.
The part I hated most out of every other part was when Marty came and sat on Derek and Sally's laps.
I agree, the credits are brilliant! I watched them over and over, I loved every millisecond! I'm not too keen on Sally, she's changing Derek and its just wrong. I could have used more Derek/Casey interaction, but overall I was very pleased with the episode, so pleased I watched three more times!
I'm glad we got to see Emily again and that she told Casey to move on. My little Shemily heart keeps hoping were going to see Sheldon again. *fingers, toes and all limbs crossed!* I really looking forward to seeing the other characters again as well such as Sam, Ralph, Paul and of course I'm sure Noel will be coming back.....maybe Tinker? Aww I miss Tinker and his crush on Casey.
*Sigh* The feeling of watching a new episode was wonderful, I didn't realize how much I really missed it! anyways.....
It's not that I hate Sally.. It's that I want Sally to be cheating on Derek with Max. =] AND THEN Derek will Be mad and Casey will be there for him and before you know it.. Well I'll let your little Dasey Minds wander. EPISODE was cute and I DO love Joy's hair.... And I can't believe that Daniel Magder is 17 but now, finally with the changing of the voice, he sounds his age... Kind of... Which is weird because even though Jordan's Voice has gotten more womanly she SHOULD be more developed than that little twirp of a kid <3.

So, I got to see the episode, but I missed about 3-5 minutes of it. (My mother asked to help with some instructions ... *sighs*)
My thoughts:
Everybody is so grown up and looking great! I kept aww-ing in the first scene when I saw Marti. And they jumped her age. While I typically don't like this method, it needed to happen here. There was no way around it.
The credits are love. Everybody got to participate more, and while there is more of a "family" feel ... *shudders* ... I loved when Derek lifted Casey off and away from the screen. The more interaction between them, the better.
This was definitely the redeeming episode for Max. I actually ... *gasps* ... liked him here. He actually did something nice ... on his own (being the horse for the little girls), and noted Casey's personal traits.
And who didn't love the little girl who kept crushing on Edwin and Max. HAHA! She was great!
I'm really annoyed with Sally. She is too perfect. I also didn't like how Marti is suddenly so accepting of both her and Max. I did appreciate Sally's actual knowledge of Marti's love for fantasies, but ... ugh. She was just around too much.
I was happy to see Derek argue with her. If they're arguing this early on, I can't see them lasting.
Also, I liked how Sally couldn't understand Derek's ways, and Casey responded with a comment about him acting like the Derek she knows.
And ...
The last scene? I loved! Casey and Lizzie think Derek has changed, and his prank confirms that fact that nobody can change the way he acts around Casey. (Maybe that's my twisted mind at work, but I'll accept it.)
Last, but not least, I loved all of the connections to past episodes. Casey's princess dress is the ruined dress in "Make No Prom-ises." Casey wears the pink jacket from "The Party." The monkey is shown from "Not So Sweet Sixteen," and they mention the break-up in "Allergy Season." That's a lot of continuity for the show! And the hula hoop! (Yes I squeed when I saw him wrap it around her.) _________________

This episode was extremely symbolic - referring back to other episodes (and as someone else had stated some extremely Dasey episodes at that). I do feel like this new season will be more promising than we think! _________________

I've been looking forward to this day for forever and then I FORGOT to watch the episode. I've just been sitting here on my butt doing nothing!
