We are going to be disabling Guest Posting on all forums. There has been too many problems with spammers to leave it enabled. We hope that this will not impact too many formers in an adverse manner. We do believe this will help improve the overall performance of the forums by helping keep the spammers out.
The Database work is pretty much complete. We will continue to monitor and tweak some of the database settings over the next few days. If you notice any significant slow down please let us know.
Forums have been really slow over the last few days. It looks like due to the huge growth we have had lately that we need to upgrade our database servers. Hopefully the upgrade will be complete tonight or early tomorrow. Thanks everyone for hanging in there.

We deleted some old inactive forums today and quite a few spammer forums.
Hopefully this will help with some of the slow downs people have been seeing.
You can now limit things Guest users can do.
In the Admin section you can set whether or not Guest Users (users that have not registered and logged in) can view your member list, view your user profiles, view your group list or use the search feature.
By default Guests are allowed to do all of these things. So If you want to disallow them, log into your admin section and set the options to no.
Forgot to update the news section. The old ads are fixed and back up now.

We have had to temporarily use a different ad provider due to a problem with our other one. We hope to have our old ad provider back up as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your users.

Karma mod was just installed. Now users can basically vote for other users giving them good or bad “karma”
You can now update your meta tags for keywords and description in your forum admin. It’s located under the General Configuration section under “Meta Tags”
Adding meta tags will help the search engines search and classify your site. This will help bring visitors and new members to your site. Please update your meta tags. We will be putting generic descriptions in for all boards for those who do not update theirs soon.
